Dear Brother,,
The first and undoubtedly the most important news we have to
convey at the present time is the result of our rush program this
fall. The Pijis really came throughl We pledged 35 men in formal
rush and have pledged 2 in informal rush. We sincerely believe
we have the best pledge class on campus. Here is a list of the

This year Ed Mor^n is vice-president of the Student Body, Gordon Alley
is.president of the Student Union Activities Beard, Lou Crowder is one
of the two Jr. Councilmen, and Tom Moore is president of the B, P. A,
College, We also have Jim Hill as a candidate or Junior Class president.
There is an increasing influx of Fiji transfers to our school, Hiis
year Brothers Rick Allen, Wabash, Terry Kilgore, Wabash, Mke Hess, Se—
wauce, and Eldon Hanson, Colorado College have applied for affiliation
with our chapter.
At the last Pig Dinner Brother Bill Chandler, President of the Tucson
Graduate Chapter, received the Order of the Silver Otiil Award. This award
is made annually to a Fiji who has contributed outstanding service to the
fraternity as a graduate.
Our chapter house is in good, sound shiape.
This fall we are attempt
ing to get new furniture for the dining room to replace that which we have
had since the house was built twenty years ago. If you would like to
help us in this quest send a check.
We surely would appi'eciate any and
every gift.
You know, chances are good that you don't know any of the men we have
mentioned in this letter. You are a Fiji and the men here a.t Upsilon Alpha
are or vd.ll be Fijis. We vjould like to increase the communication between
the undergraduate cind as a result make Phi Gamma Delta even stronger than
we are at the present. If you haven't been to the house since we remodeled,
or if you have seen it, we cordially invite you to a buffet Luncheon here
at the Fiji House on Homecoming Day, November 21jj Lunch will be served
from 11:30 until 12:30, For those of you vjho can't be here for lunch
Saturday, we are also going to have a luncheon Sunday, Nov. 22, at 1:00
P, M, We would like you to send a reply stating whether or not you can be
here, and, if you can come, which day or days you can come up for lunch.
We want to meet you and have you meet us.
We are happy to see the growing interest in the Phoenix area. The
