Fiji Activity
A good measure of a well-rounded
fraternity is the activity of its mem
bers. The following list of Fijis in
campus activities gives one an over
all view of the leadership abilities
of these men. It is difficult to find
any phase of Knox life in which Phi
Gams do not play a pi-ominent part.

During the fir.st half of this semester, tho.se of you who
have .seriou.sly been thinking about joining a fraternity had two
ha.sic question.s in mind. First, should I join a fraternity; second,
what should T look for in a fraternity? You have had time to
hear a majority of the arguments, for and against fraternity life.
Now it is up to you to make your decision.
In regard to the former question I can only tell you that
this is a personal matter. You must decide for yourself. It is
the purjiose of this jiaper to aid you in answering the second
question. Perhaps in so doing we can point out some merits in
fraternity life that will make the first decision easier.
Neverthe
less, we are still primarily interested in making suggestions to
you as to what to look for in a fraternity — and in ijarticular,
Idii (kmima Delta Fraternity. If you have decided to join a
fraternity, you owe it to j-ourself and the organization to make
a wi.se and mature decision,

men selected in their college days by democratic ijrocess because
of their adherance to common ideals and aspiratioms. With this
goal in mind Gamma Deuteron has been able to maintain a well-
rounded chaiiter, consisting of active members with varied per
sonalities. It is a solid chapter — internally strong and, as you
will see, active in all jihases of camims life. Its list of nationally
known graduates is a long one, extending from composer Otto
Harbach to the manufacturing Ingersolls. We of Phi Gamma
Delta are jiroud of our chapter, and ask only that you look at
our record and make your decision with this in mind.
\ ours is the choice —ours is only to aid you in making it
objectively, and to wish you a ideasant and prosperous four years
at Knox.
Sincerely,

an excellent opportunity for the
Knox Fiji Islanders to return to
their native habitat, the perfect
facsimile of the Souse Sea Islands,
Green Oaks in the spring time; and
to do honor by the fraternity. The
brothers and their dates dress up
in dramatic Fiji Island costumes
and soak up the atmosphere of the
Islands created by a barn, bamboo,
native type food, fish nets, and
ambitious Fijis. The sarong is, quite
incidentally, one requirement for
party admittance that is strctly en
forced. The brothers chant high
praises for this South Sea Island
orgy by labeling it the "best party
on Campus."
