proud to claim among its brothers his

Theta Chapter's annual election of
officers was held last month with the
usual problem of having to select only
five from a field of highly qualified
brothers. With the votes for the final
office counted, these brothers were
chosen to lead Theta through the coming
year:
Scears Barnes, President; Warren
Arrasmith, Treasurer; Eddie Cain, Re
cording Secretary; Bill Hines, Jr., Cor
responding Secretary; and Billy Steed-

WHY ATTEND
PIG DINNER It is often said that the youth of this
nation is its most precious investment,
that we are the key to the future suc
cess and prosperity of our country.
These same keys, if not given proper
guidance, may through lack of exper
ience open the doors of catastrophe and
failure rather than success and happi
ness. Sufficient knowledge can be
crowded into the space of three or four
years at college, but experience is solely
the product of time. The mature man
requires both knowledge and experience,
and the value of leadership and advice
from the older generations to the young
er cannot be over estimated.

How many times have the same blunders
led to chaos and devastation? Can not
much of the blame for these tragic mis
takes be traced to the absence of force
ful leadership for the younger genera
tions to follow? Violence, turmoil, juve
nile delinquency, are far too common
words that clutter the columns of our
daily newspapers. Far too often these
conditions are created by selfish, selfcentered individuals and organizations
inspiring the inexperienced youth to
ward false goals.
We at Theta Chapter realize the
worth of the advice and leadership that
we have received in the past from our
alumni. What better opportunity could
be found for binding closer the ties be
tween your generation and ours than
the cordial and fraternal atmosphere
experienced at the annual Norris Pig
Dinner? If you haven't yet made your
plans to attend the Pig Dinner on May
2, we encourage you to do so immed
iately. Remember these words of Bro
ther Newton D. Baker, "A fraternity,
too, is of such character that after men
have left college they delight to renew
