And back in those old days we dreamed about
our own house and hoped and hoped. Now that the hope has grown
into realization, we'll meet to talk over the future.
Paul Motz, as
treasurer, will make an interesting rcixirt, but he guarantees chat
no funds will be solicited that evening. If you are in arrears on your
house imymont, mail Paul a little check before the Smoker.
It will
help to make hi.s report better. Don't let money keep you away.
Come out with the boys that night.
Forget your financial depre.'^sions, your arms "Parley" and your unpaid election bets.
Be
young again and realize what it means to be a Fiji among Fi.iis.
And come early.
Our boys on the team have to get rest, and
we want you to meet 'em.
AFTER
CHRISTMAS—WHAT?
Leave your troubles, your worries and your gooloshes here—pack
up the old carpet bag and join the bunch that will head south just
after
Christmas. Cleveland will send a delegation to the 73rd Ekklesia at Birmingham, whore the southern boys will treat them to
l)ohk, yahms and mebbe possum.
Ever seen the real south?
Well,
here's the chance of a lifetime. Slip away from the cold for a four
day vacation, take the wife (if you're lucky enuf to have one), put
your

storage
and

There's
work,

Ekklesia
for
us.
Many
policies
must

Start squeezing the nickels and the resulting dollars will buy the
little old R.

guidance of Paddy Le Sourd. Ohio State, Denison, Ohio Wesleyan,
Wittenberg and Reserve comprise the section.
CHICAGO—BILL BYERS—HARGRAVE
LONG
"Cleveland helped Chicago christen the Chi Upsilon chapter's new
§93,300.00 home at 5540 Woodlawn avenue, Chicago. Sept. 28th.,
when Bro. Wm. F. Byers, Sr. (O. W. U.) a member of the Cleve
land Graduate Chapter, pinned the white star button on his son,
Wm. F. Bycr.s, Jr. Young Byers was the fir.st man to be bid, and
the first man to be pledged, in the new hf)Uso. With an auspicious
start, the Chicago chapter is having the most .successful rushing
season
in
years."
—A letter from Chicago.
(Hargrave Long, in Cleveland for .several years, put through the
Chicago chapter house almost single handed. Anyway, a great deal
of credit should go to Hargrave.)
WIN WORLINE LENDS ADVICE
At the 72nd Ekklesia it was voted that a special committee of
alumni, all practicing attorneys, give caJ'oful consideration to the
question of incorporating the fraternity or establishing a voluntary
trust in place of the present as&oci.-Htion.
Theodore T. Grayson,
Cola G. Parker, John Stephen Wright, Emmett A. Donnelly and
Winfield
Worline
comprise
the committee.
OUR ALERT CONTEMP.
Vol. No. 1 of the Xi Deuteron chapter paper was recenty placed
in the hands of alumni.
Heretofore, all alumni news has ccme
only through the chapter letters to the magazine or In the one
yearly publication at the Ncrris Dinner. This news letter is pub
lished by the local chapter and is an excellent beginning. The Hunch
congratulates its "alert contcmp."
SCOOP SCOOPED
In Sei)teniber the Hunch predicted great things for the Phi
Gamma Delta, and "Scoop" Wilkinson, its editor, "came across."
The October issue was an eyeopener, both to prospective Fijis, and
to the older fellows. It was a wonder. Yes, brother, the price is
still $2.00. and Dib Williams will be g!nd to take your application.
Another issue will soon be out, and we'll bet on Wilkinson.
