FIJI ISLAND ISSUE
Kenneth A. Payment, Editor
April 15, 1961
CHAPTER NEWS
Preparations for Fiji Island Weekend are now in progress, actives and
pledges eagerly awaiting the gala event.
We are hoping to see a host of
alumni return to the old chapter house to attend the festivities beginning
May 5 and ending Sunday May 7. Please let us know if you are coming and
if you will need accommodations.
The ad-interim report of marks shows a great improvement in the house
index, a trend that we hope will continue throughout the year. A gain of
over 0.3 was made which under the college system is an appreciable increase.
The pledges have been busy putting a new ceiling over the bar, while
Brother Kirk Mellen '61 has been painting a hugh Fiji Island scene to be
put in the game room. These improvements along with the refacing of the
bar and the addition of a hood, have given the game room a new look.
In addition to the practice of inviting members of the faculty to
dinner at least once a week, the Alumni Relations Committee has begun to
invite alumni back from the Schenectady area for Thursday night dinners.
Our first guest was Brother RICHARD SITTS '51 from Scotia.
THANKS
We v;ould like to express out thanks to JAMES F. DAVIDSON *23 for his
contribution to the chapter.
