SPECIAL NOTE:
We are eligible to win both the Quality Cup and the
Quantity Cup this year.
We won both of them in 1963, the first time
that was ever accomplished in the history of the Sing. We can do it
again this year with your help.
So whether you just march or march
guid sing we need youl The song this year will be a simple composite
of songs we've won with previously. A few minutes practice and it
will all come back to you.
GRADUATE ITEMS:
Ret. Maj. Gen. WARD H. MARIS '15 plans ta attend his
50th reunion on June 12th. His Golden Owl award will be waiting for
him to be presented at the Pig Dinner. He is "bringing along the gal
who has been co-pilot for some
years." After the Sing Ward drives
to Washington, D.C. to see his grandchildren then to Europe to visit
World War landmarks.

WILLIAM H. DUNIffl 'lf5 is a U.S.' Post Office employee and writes that

DR. LOUIS C. GRADE '^7 is Professor of Mathematics and has just been
appointed department Chairman at Bowling Green University. EDWARD W.
ALLEN '07 couldn't retire from public life if he wanted too. He keeps
getting reappointed to many civic positions as chairman. He hears from
WALTER BINGHAM '02 and JAMES 0. MURDOCK '16 but craves news from others.
CARL EDWARD SCHULZ '30 died Nov. 7> 196^ of an acute coronary at age 56.
He was personnel director for RCA Labs in Princeton, New Jersey.

of the Kappa Grad Chapter on May

At the meeting MAX I. STUCKER- '53 and JAMES W. VICE '5^ were elected
Directors and BERNARD J. DELGIORNO >55 Vice-President.
ROBERT F. GOOD-
YEAR *16 is an Associate Circuit Court Judge in Xroquois and Karfcakee
Counties.
He was part of the, commission which wrote the Illinois drain
age laws.
Prof. RICHARD R. JiBRTZ 'lf7 is in Rome doing research on modern
diplomatic history.
MAJOR GEN. CECIL E. COMBS '33 this summer completes
his 8th year as commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology at
Wright Patterson AFB.
UNDERGRADUATE NEWS; Following the initiation of our newest Brothers on
May loth, Pledge Trainer JACK H. HARRIS '66 went for a.brief dip in the
Law School pond.
Accompanying Jack were at least 3 of the new initiates.
The swim interlude delayed only briefly the best post-initiation song
fest-celebration in years. The newest Brothers are ROBERT H. BRIAR '68,
RICHARD COHN '68, THOMAS HUSSEY '68, HARVEY LITTLEJOHN '68, MICHAEL NEMEROFF '68 and DAVID R. RIDER '68.
We welcome them.
An athletic powerhouse? Chi Upsilon? YESl Chicago Fijis are leaders in
many campus sports. In intraraurals they took second place in basketball,
volleyball, bowling and touch football and 1st place in softbali.

N. KLUESSNER '66 won his 1st Varsity letter in track. DOUGLAS L. PETERSEN '67 repeated in badcetball and Pres. CHRISTOPHER R. FLORY '67 in swim
ming. JAMES H. BLOCK '67 and RICHARD J. STONE '^7 are joined by fresh
men Rick Cohn and Dave Rider on Varsity baseball. Bros. Stone and KNIGHT
COOLIDGE '68 lettered in soccer. Former pledge class pres., Mike Nemeroff is top man on the golf squad. Minor' letters were also awarded to
Bob Briar and JAMES A. GOEKEN '67.
Peterson, Ed Jones and R±bk Stone were
selected for Maroon Key, honorary service organization, joining Dave Mid
land and Chris Flory and a long line of distinguished Chi Upsilon grads.
BRIIN C. M-IITAKER '66 and CLYDE P. WATKINS '66 have returned from 7 mos.
study in Europe.

Historical Fiji interest and leadership in Bladcfriars once again
evidenced itself. JDAVID P. MIDLAND '66, LARRZ SLIFMiUI '66 were cast mem
bers. JOE T. FORD '6^ helped write the lyrics and Bros. Whitaker, Jones
and ROBIN HEISS '66 were on the production staff. A fine cocktail-dinner
narty at the House preceeded the production and grads and their wives and
dates who attended included DAVID P. MORRIS '59, DONALD M. GREER '59,
LEGARE BRIGGS '58, RICHARD L. GARCIA '5^, STANLEY HUTCHINGS '6lt, CHARLES
A WRIGHT''57, RICHlRD I. GUMPORT '59, JOHN R. STANEK '58, VANCE H. DILLIKGIUM '55, DELGIORiro and VICE.
HOUSE CORP. REPORTS; Projects nearing completion: Refinishing of front
entrance door and relocation of laundry room to old coal bin area. The
washer and dryer are being moved into the basement and the ex-laundry
room will then be re-converted into a coat room and girls powder room.
Future projects in planning stage: Remodeling kitchen, study rooms, card
room, v/ashrooms and landscaping. More details by Pig Dinner time and via
special mailings during the summer.
This looks like our '+th consecutive annual record on dues collections.
So
far $805 has already been received this year and at least a dozen "old
reliable" contributors had not yet been heard from. Our objective is not
just to break the old record but: to hit at least $1 ,000. So if you're an
"old Reliable" or would like to become one, even if you've pai4 once,
olease send in your $10 or $25 4^es check with your proxy card.
