20 GRAD. SUPPORT - - GREATEST EVER!
Sigma Omicron now has a graduate
association designed to aid the chap

At a meeting of 20 enthusiastic grad

September 11, it was the consensus of
opinion that Sigma Omicron needed
the support of its alumni through such
an association.
Temporary officers were selected to
serve until the formal election and or
ganization in January. Joe Mark El
Kouri was
chosen
President;
Dan
Luca-i, Vice President; Herschel
Beard, Secretary; Don Boyd, Treasur

of
$12.00 per year. Brothers may con

the first Tuesday of each month at
7:30 p,m. Brother Bob Curtis volun
teered the use of a conference room
in the 39th Expressway Office Build
ing, 2401 N.W. 39th for the meetings.
Purple Legionnaire Jim Treadway
asked for Brothers to serve on the re
organized Board of Chapter Advisors.
Three year terms were taken by Don
Greeriamyer, Robert Keating, Bob
Curtis, Richard Howell, Herschel
Beard, Tom Allen, Dr. B. Curtis
Hamm. Each will advise the chapter

Sunday, October 19, was the day foi
Sigma Omicron's annual Blood Bowl.
Needless to say the outcome was a
victory for the brothers with the final
score of 27-0. All in all the game was
a lot of fun with only a few sprained
legs and one broken bone- Unfortun

GRADUATE REPORT
Dear Brothers,
Dear Graduate Brothers,
A lot of work has been going on around
Sigma Omicron the past two years so that we
could be the Phi Gamma Delta Chapter that
we once were. The work has paid off well,
as we are now a well respected chapter on
campus.
First and most important are our chapter
finances. The debt we held three years ago has
now dwindles to less than a few hundred dol
lars with a forecast of operating totally *'in
the black" by May 1976.
Next is our public relations on the O.S.U.
Campus. Social Chairman Doug Warwick has
come up with some g-reat new ideas for social
functions and we have partied together with
the best sororities on campus.
Athletic and scholastic standings have shown
the greatest single increase in a long time. In
intramurals we moved from 15th place up to
9th and we are currently ranked 6th in the
standings. Scholastically we went from 18th
place up to 9th position. All these standings
are based on reports of 24 local fraternities.
This years pledges are outstanding young
men and have already contributed a great deal
to Phi Gam. Pledge Trainer Scott Fooshee has
one of the best pledge programs ever to be
Litlized at Sigma Omicron. We are projecting
I wish I could express my true feelings of
thanks to all of you who are giving great time
and devotion to the house. Things are truly
Last but not least is the fantastic support,
you, tlie graduate brothers have given us. It
has been a tremendous concerted effort on the
part of Sigma Omicron graduate brothers'
throughout the state to give the O.S.U. chaptei
the graduate support that it needed so despirately.
Sigma Omicron has obviously come a long
way, but I feel there is always room for im
provement and the brothers must continually
strive to do better. As I end my term of office
and graduate in December, I feel that I will
be leaving one of the strongest chapters on the
Oklahoma State campus and in Phi Gamma
Delta.

starting to roll in the area of graduate rela
tions and this is of course what Sigma Omicron
needs. I only hope that now more and more
graduate brothers can rally forces so that we
brothers, with your support, can make our
chapter number one where it should be.
At this point we have a very big problem
with communications. I would therefore like
to ask you to please send the enclosed card
back to the house at your convenience. Also if
you know the addresses of any graduate
brothers not receiving our newsletter, please
let me know them. We our trying to update

our files and have lost contact with quite a
few brothers. So please help us out in this

area.
In closing I would just like to thank you
once again and invite you to the house any
time especially for the upcoming events. Also
if you have any questions pertaining to our
chapter, please feel free to write me here at
the house.

FIJIS TAKE TENNIS
The sports highlight of the semester here
at Sigma Omicron was the capturing of the
intramurals Tennis Championship. Steve Cobb,
a Tulsa junior, and Tim Hunt, a Tulsa sopho
more, were the star players for the house.
Steve and Tim defeated Beta Theta Pi in the
finals. Congratulations are in order for these
two outstanding Fijis.
As for other sports standings, we had an
upset season in Football with a 0-5 season.
This year we are up against tougher teams
being as we are in the Spartan League. This
somewhat explains our loosing record for foot
ball.
Volleyball and basketball are coming up
soon and we can look forward to great stand
ings in these two sports. This year we have
several outstanding basketball players to sup
port our team.
