the chapter's financial position is
very poor. It seems that graduates
want the undergraduates to put on
an elaborate Pig Dinner and a
jubilant Fiji Island. Unfortunately,
looks do not pick up the bill for
these events. If you, as graduates,
expect us to put on these events it
is up to you who owe to pay your
bill and to the others to pressure
these Fijis to fulfill their "financial
obligation."
Right now the Chapter is
financially supported by 37.5% of
the members. The remaining
undergraduates
owe
around
$2,000, while the graduates owe
around $1000. Imagine what the
Chapter can do with this money. If
you as a graduate have any Ideas
how to collect the money from
both the graduates and under
graduates, it will be deeply
appreciated. After all. Phi Gamma

TEST FILES
The Scholarship Committee at
Indiana State Univesity has been
busy this year. The year started
out with Chris Vance, chairman,
and Doug Conkright, and Gary
Weber making up the rest of the
committee. The committee's acti

included revising the test file,
throwing out old tests and filing
new ones that the brothers turn in.
Chris Vance was elected by the
chapter to be the head of Rush for
the Spring semester of 1975. Doug

Yes, the Sycamore Special, other

upon departure from the city, left
the people buzzing. It can safely
be said
that

produced one of the best floats
that an Indiana State Homecoming
will ever see.
This year's theme on campus
for float competition was "Yester

the direction of Craig Duwe and
of graduate Brother Kevin Marks,
designed the float and began
construction of the historic Indiana
engine two short weeks before the
big day. The finished product was
completed about 15 minutes prior
to parade entry. As she chugged

were awarded the Sweepstake's
Trophy for best float overall.
It was agreed that such a float
could be of more worth than just a
showing in one parade, the ISU
Homecoming Parade being the
2nd largest parade in Indiana. The
float will therefore be appearing in
Indiana's largest parade—the Ind
ianapolis 500 Parade in May, and
again in the third largest parade in
Indiana—Peru's Circus City Par
ade in July. Peru, incidentally, is
where the original Wabash Cannonball used to travel through on
its St. Louis-Detroit route! There
fore, we will be proud in creating
"Yesterday Once More."

initiating nine of whiat we think are
the campus' best. "Times are
truly hard" (quote from "Superbad" Cochran) when the shape of
our economy infiltrates the frater
nity and sorority system forcing
many good men and women to
terminate their pledgeship. It hit
us hard as well as many other
organizations and there is, of this
writing, no end in reachable sight.
Our lone social service project
to this point featured a "Big
Brother Party" for the forty kids in
I

Terre Haute who have yet to
receive a big brother. Under the
chairmanship of Brother Steve
Gentry, the house sponsored an all
day function commencing with
everything you can think of and
ending with FIJI bought tickets for

for another dollar!) The brothers
really got a kick out of this project
and it was well accepted by the

but of any chapter, to stop in when

I am pleased right now with
the performance of nearly all the

Al

and I would not be at all surprised
if they both go down as two of the
finest activities yet in our frater

It's time now to look briefly at
the more serious perils that lie in
the gloom to ambush an unpre
