"NOT FOR COLLEGE DAYS ALONE"
Editor's Note - We regret it takes frbin two weeks to a month-from printing for the Chapter
publications to reach our Graduate Brothers homes.
Tne reason for the delay is the fact
that publications are sent by third class mail rather than first class, which is faster.
Third class mail costs 2.7 cents per letter compared to 15 cents for first class. The
Chapter publications bill will be over $1000 this year and. all of the money comes -directly
from the underguraduate Chapter treasury. "We do not have a Graduate Publication fund,
nor do we receive money for publications from the House Corporation as many Chapters do.
i"-i3 a result, the Chapter feels it's just too expensive to send publications first class
at this time.
Several Graduate Brothers have mentioned the lengthy mailing period to us
and we hope this helps explain why there is a delay.
Our neouhytes took their pledge sneak to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
The Purule Garter will be Dec. 1 at Caviller Club in Manhattan.
Formal will be Feb. 10 at the Holiday Inn in Topeka.
The Black Diamond
Cur Phi Gam fathers watched the K-State football -team whip Colorado during Dad's
weekend. Mike Robson, who is in dental school in Kansas City, also attended the upset.
Chip Miller ('69), 701 Ash, Vfamego, Kan. 665^-7, came over for a "Wednesday night
dress dinner at the House. Purple L-egionaire Spencer Tomb also showed us slides of his
botany expedition in the Soviet Union this fall. Spencer says the United States is
■definately leading the beautiful women race.
Tne Chi Cuiegas came over for a Friday afternoon-evening function.
Kind Fijis carried
several motionless girls back to the Ghi-0 house after the function.
D. Newton Simcox, Steve Blackwell, Curtis Henderson, Bradley Dunagin, Mike Boucher,
Doug "Doc" Allison, and Little Sister Janice Button ventured to Topeka to be poll watchers
for G. ""William Ossman in his bid for the Kansas House of Representatives.
Bill, a Republican, was narrowly defeated in a" strong Democrat district.
Unfortunately,
Many Graduate Brothers are already making plans to attend fne NCRRI3 FIG DINNER
which will be April 21, 1979.

"I am all ready for the party except
for one thing - 1 haven't gotten
around to getting a date yet. Wilthough,
I'm still quite excited about the
party.
"At the party everybody will be
dressed up in farm clothes, probably
either overalls or old blue painters
pants.
"All in all, 1 am rea.dy for the party
except 1 guess 1 had ought to start
thinking about a date."

"Last Friday night vras our fraternity's annual Yuk-Up Party which is-the
sarae as a barn party, I'm going to describe in as much detail as I can, my
date for the party.
"First of aLl I'll give some background. Kat'ny is a. sophomore in accounting,
She is from Overland Park, Karisas and while at school she lives in the WULpha
Xi Delta sorority house. Probably the most striking cnaracteristic of Xathy
is her hair. Her hair is a very pretty light brunette color, nut the color
of her hair is not so noticeable as the length.
(bottom).
Her hair hangs dovrn to her
"Kathy is a very pretty girl. She is fair skinned and has light colored
eyes. She is about 5*6" and weighs about 115 pounds. Tnat is a guess, i
don't know for sure. Kathy and I wefe ha\iing a great time until something
happened. It turned out that Kathy was allergic to hay and of course, a
barn party would he.ve hay. .After she had been sneezing consistently for
some time 1 looked at her and could see that her eyes were 'watering and
her nose was running. She didn't look like she vjas feeling too well, so
I took her home.
"1 guess the next time 1 take her out, if I ever do, I'll have to raxe
her some place where there isn't any hay to be found."
