We are sure

upon us this year, our aims and goals

will be much enhanced through the graduate involvement at the
College events and festivities.
The College has a full schedule
of events throughout the entire year that promises to make a
return visit to W & J well worth your time.
We at Alpha are
looking forward to seeing alumni from as far back as possible at
Homecoming on October 17 and 18.
As Alpha passes through its
one-hundred and thirty-second year at W & J, we have eighteen
brothers who are planning an active Homecoming weekend.
involvement is more than welcome.
We are looking forward to
greeting all of you at the door.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Dear Brothers,
Ron Nelson, Director of Programs, from the International
Fraternity, made an unexpected visit to Alpha Chapter at the
beginning of the school year to discuss problems the house might
have.
Acting as treasurer of Alpha, I sat down with Ron and
discussed the financial obligation the brothers had to the house.
The cash flow is better than in the recent past and the cash
available for chapter finances this semester looks to make this
year prosperous. Homecoming and the two-hundredth anniversary of
the school are of prime importance to the house and an exciting
weekend is in store. Motivation seems to be up in the house and
as treasurer, I am willing to accept the challenges that are put
before me to have a financially good house. We welcome all
graduates and their guests to stop in and visit Alpha Chapter
during the college's two-hundredth birthday celebrations.

HISTORIAN'S REPORT
As ^pha begins its one-hundred and thirty-second year of
existence, Washington and Jefferson is preparing to celebrate its
bicentennial year. This is not only a historic moment for W & J,
but also for Alpha Chapter. Last May we initiated eleven new men
into brotherhood. All will greatly enjoy meeting you as will the
entire brotherhood.
The tradition and brotherhood have become
stronger over the past year.
into the future.
We hope to continue this trend way

ALPHA ASSOCIATION REPORT
Dear Brothers,
Over the course of the past few years, the Alpha Chapter
suffered from low membership, lack of finances and waning morale.
In an attempt to rectify the problems, the Graduate Brothers of
the Alpha Association have spent considerable time working with
our Active Brothers.
We feel that great strides have been taken
to insure a rising membership^fInahdial stability^and a sense of
what it truly means to be a Fiji. Last year Alpha Chapter began
with approximately ten active members. This year we began with
eighteen. A lot of time and effort has been expended by the Alpha
Association, the International Fraternity and of course by the
Alpha Chapter to turn the downward slide and to rebuild the
Fraternity we all love.
The process has just begun. To maintain an upward climb we
need your help in any way possible. Any time, money or ideas you
can infuse into the process will be greatly appreciated by all
concerned. Please contact any member of the Alpha Association
with what you have to contribute. Rather than criticize or
condemn, we ask you to help.
Fraternally yours.
