President’s Message
It is an honor to have
been elected the President of the Mu Tau
Chapter of Phi Gamma
Delta. There has never
been any doubt that I
made the right decision
to pledge this fraternity.
I came to the University
of Memphis without a
plan, but Phi Gamma
Delta has given me
much needed direction.
“For the Son of Man
came to seek and to save
what was lost” (Luke
19:10).
This
should
prove to be an exciting
year for Mu Tau. Our
chapter has already secured four quality pledges for the spring. continued on page 2

The Fraternity recruited
11 pledges for fall 2003 and
initiated 5. Two of those who
failed to make their grades are
pledging again this spring. The
Fraternity has made great strides
in its recruiting process. The
Chapter continues to strive to
improve its numbers with quality
individuals. The brothers, using a
plan created by Richard Groff
(Memphis ‘91), Steve Voyles
(Memphis ’03), and T.J. Hausauer
(Memphis ’04), have established a
successful guide to recruitment
during the year. This plan was
largely the reason for the large
pledge class in the fall.
The future of the Chapter
looks very bright and promising.
The finances have never looked
better, the Fraternity has a
respectable image on campus, the
Chapter is competitive in oncampus events, and the brothers
remain dominant in their academics. With continued support from
the graduate and undergraduate
brothers, the Mu Tau Chapter of
Phi Gamma Delta is well on its
way towards greatness.

Join the 18.48 Club
The 18.48 Club ($18.48 per
month) was established in
2003 as a way for Brothers
to contribute to Mu Tau's recruitment and Leadership
efforts. The funds are only
utilized for these functions
and so far the program has
been a tremendous success,
but we need more participation to meet our goals.
Please get involved. The
Brothers currently involved
are: Jim Guess, Owen
Keith, Wes Gentry, Bobby
Svoboda, Dave Kraehmer,
Richard Groff, Mark
Harris, Todd Steele, Daniel Johnson, Michael
Keith, Ted Showalter,
Darren Davis, and Paul
Woods.
President’s Message Continued...
Brotherhood is beginning to reach
an all-time high, thanks in part to
the efforts of Field Secretary Patrick Brichta (New Mexico 2002).
Our chapter’s cumulative GPA of
3.08 is still first among all IFC
organizations. Overall, I am very
excited about the upcoming year.
Every day of my life I strive to
safeguard the reputation of Phi
Gamma Delta. I am proud to be a
FIJI, and I love each and every
one of my Phi Gamma Delta
brothers.
Pergé,
