Dear Brothers,
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone is safe and joyous over this special
holiday (and I hope nobody lost too much money betting on football-as you know,
Christmas is just around the corner!) We've just completed our final exams for Quarter
Number One here at the ole Rose Poly. During the past few months, we've had a few
good happenings. To name a few;
1) Under the direction of senior Brian Sullivan, the whole chapter got out to meet the
freshmen, psyched by the motto, "Proud to be a Fiji and excitedabout rush!" Thanks to
Sully, we took a BIG, BIG class of 28 pledges at the end of October!
2) We went (almost) UNDEFEATED in fall intramurals.
3) We had another awesome homecoming. Although the football game's outcome (a
resounding loss for the Engineers) threatened to dampen everyone's enjoyment more
than the on again/off again foul, COLD, crummy weather did, everyone had a good time.
Three cheers for cold & congealed barbecue!! (I never knew BBO could look so pink!
Hmmm!?)
For those of you who must have got lost on the way to Terre Haute (because we certainly
didn't see you here!), you missed a special treat. Straight from the icy Qords of the Yukon,
Mike Krieber and his wife Pam brought fresh Alaskan salmon for a tremendous grilled
fish extravaganza after the game.
Fraternally,
Jonathan Drew

PURPLE GARTER '92
This year PG has been moved to French Lick Resort in French Lick, IN. The
undergraduate chapter would like to extend an invitation to all graduates and their
families. PG will be held Saturday, March 28,1992. Approximate cost will be $75-$85
per couple. This includes a double-occupancy room, dinner, and breakfast Sunday
morning. In addition, you will have access to the resort's two pools, sauna, and weight
room. With some additional cost, the resort also offers: and 18-hole golf course, tennis,
bowling, and horseback riding. We'd really like to encourage graduates to attend with
their families-the resort offers plenty to do! More complete information and a request
for RSVP will be included in the next Graduate Newsletter.
