E. Dennis Ehrenberger '62 brings us
up to date: "I've stayed in California
since leaving the Air Force in 1967.
· The weather is great, I can play golf
year-round and still make a buck working at a job I love (90 percent of the
time). I plan to retire at 60 to get more
golf and fishing in.
"I've stayed in contact with several
brothers over the years. The best part
about the fraternity experience was
the close relationships and the ability
to keep them for over 34 years."
Dennis is a national account executive with Mead Packaging. He and his
wife, Arlene, a secretary, have five
grown children, Dennis, Matt, Ken,
Steve and Melissa. Catch up with "E"
at 530 S. Calle De Casas, Anaheim,

The Power of Two Percent
Since the founding of the American
college fraternity movement in 1776,
fraternities have grown to symbolize
leadership, independence, scholastic
achievement and service to their various campuses and communities.
Fraternity men represent a very
small percentage, only two percent, of
the male population in the United
States. However, that two percent is a
very powerful group of individuals!
Fraternity men have gone on to hold
many of the top positions in our nation, from the business world to the
political arena.
• Approximately 80 percent of the
top executives of Fortune 500
companies are fraternity men.
• The majority (71 percent) of those
listed in Who's Who in America are
fraternity men.
• Seventy-six percent of current
United States senators and
congressmen are fraternity men.
• Forty percent of the 4 7 Supreme
Court justices since 1910 have been
fraternity men.
• One hundred of 158 cabinet members
since 1900 have been fraternity
men.
• All but two United States Presidents
since 1825 have been fraternity
men.
It is certainly no surprise that today's
college and university students express a keen interest in the Greek system. The opportunities are endless and
the benefits speak for themselves.
Each year, thousands of young
men enter the working world with the
competitive advantage of fraternity
experience and alumni contacts.

Your Assistance Ensures Best Rush Results
While much can be said about the
recent advancements made in nearly
every facet of fraternity and campus
life for Pi Chapter, there is a particular
facet about which enough can never
be said.
The chapter's rush chairmen have
been doing an excellent job locating
and pledging the best young men at
Allegheny College, but there is always
room for improvement. The best improvement any of the active brothers
can come up with is more interaction
by our graduate brothers in the rush
process-namely, recommendations.
If you know of young men who are
or will be attending Allegheny-and
whom you would be proud to call
brothers-pl-ease take a moment to get
the information to us. With your input, we will be ensured of top rush
results for years to come.

Support Strengthens 'The Pi Crust'
The men of Pi Chapter would like to offer a word of thanks to the many
graduates who have made voluntary contributions to our newsletter program in
recent months.
Your support makes a difference! In addition to helping us produce The Pi
Crust, your voluntary contributions are making a number of improvements in
our graduate relations program possible. We have already updated many addresses on our mailing list, and are working on even more; we have received
many letters with positive comments, suggestions, and personal notes to help us
keep you better informed and involved; and we have seen greater graduate
interest as a result of our efforts.

THE PI CRUST
Establishing a Link
In past issues of The Pi Crust, the
newsletter for graduate brothers of Fiji
at Allegheny College, you have read
about chapter involvement in a
number of areas. We are very proud of
our record of both community and
campus involvement.
However, there is one particular
area in which we seriously lack. That
is involvement with our own graduate
brothers.
With every issue of The Pi Crust,
we hope to forge a new link in an everstrengthening chain of communication
and brotherly spirit between the
collegiate chapter and the Pi Chapter
graduate corps.
Through projects like this newsletter, we hope to demonstrate our willingness to reach out to our graduate
brothers.
Of~ourse, a newsletter published
twice each year is just a start. We plan
to fully develop an entire graduate relations program which will encourage
graduate brothers from all classes to
become supportive of our efforts and
again be actively involved in Fiji at
Allegheny.
First and foremost, this is your
newsletter. The Pi Crust is being distributed to Pi graduates across the
country. It is yours to use to keep in
touch with one another, to announce
upcoming events, and to express opinions about national, university and
chapter policies.
With the newsletter as a forum for
ideas as well as an instrument for information sharing, each of you again
has a stake in Pi Chapter.
Each of our members is valued,
whether you live close to Meadville
and can lend your expertise in an advisory role, or you live across the country and can offer encouragement and
suggestions by letter or phone. We
want to hear from you.
The newsletter program will be
successful if it merely provides our
graduates with an update of chapter
activities. But it can be much more
than that. It can truly be the groundwork for a swell of graduate support
which will carry Pi Chapter proudly
into the next century.

You're Our
Best Resource!
Do you remember saying, "You' ll
see me around," or "I'll be back," as
you carried your last box of college
treasures from your room at the house?
Once out in the world, you found a
job, maybe a wife and family. Somehow good old Fiji got pushed down on
the priority list.
Lately, though, you've been thinking about how you'd like to get involved again. But all your brothers
have graduated, the chapter has
changed, and there's really no one you
feel comfortable contacting to find out
what's happening.
Wait a minute! This is your fraternity and its unique aspect is that it
provides membership for life. You enjoyed your undergraduate experience;
there's no reason why you can't enjoy
your graduate experience too. Graduate support provides a foundation for
undergraduat~ development. It can
take the form of becoming a chapter
advisor, serving as a member of the
House Corporation, or something as
simple as attending Homecoming.
You are a valuable resource to the
chapter, and we want to hear how we
can get you involved again. Just give
us a call at (814) 333-1103, or write
to: 454 N. Main St. Box 47, Meadville,
PA 16335.
