the chapter to make this the best Homecomingyet! The chapter willbe participat

Graduate Trusteeship

Thank you to the many Brothers who contributed to the
ISGAsince the January issue, to keep it going! Accidentally,
Mike Schell '73 was left out of the contributor list in the
January issue - many apdogies, Mike!

The lota Sigma chapter, as some of you know, has been
placed on Graduate Trusteeship. The graduate Brothers in
the area have formed a Board of Trustees to help the chapter
meet its goals and fulfill the ideals of Phi Gamma Delta.
Serving on this Board are Greg Otolski '93, Kirby Bilsland
Keith Pittman '95, Garry Elder '74, Ryan Fettit '88^ Jim
Twitchell '91, Mark Sullivan '85, Charlie Brown '74, Greg
Hubble '91, Don Mighell (Texas) '56, Randy Lucas '78, Joe
Weist (Rose-Hulman) '87, Don Sipple '89, and ''Bo" Stout
'95, Rolo Miles '89, Paul Allen '94, "Bo" Stout '96, Brent
'96 for their donations to keep the newsletter gdng.
The Board has met several times in order to analyze the
needs and goalsof the chapter, and to help the chapter meet
its goals. The chapter and the Board felt that there were
Brothers who did not exemplify the values of Phi Gamma
Delta,and subsequendy interviewed all ofthe chaptermem
bers. Several Brothers have been placed on probationary
status, the chapter and the Board both feeling that this is in
the best interest of the chapter and will provide a fresh start.
John Gamer '72 writes, "All is fine with us. 1 still teach
chenustry at Greencastle HS and Gail is the emergency
room supervisor at Putnam County Hospital. Lori is a
junior at DePauw, Jennyis a freshmanat ISU, and Davidis
in tenth grade.
Garry Elder '74 writes, "1am stillliving in FishersIN and am
Vice President of Indianapolis Electric Company, a con
struction company."
Ed Vawter '85 and his his wife Annette have relocated to
Salem OR, from New Jersey. Ed's certainly seeing the
country!!
Kirby Bilsland '95 is now lota Sigma's Purple Legionnaire.
Leffel '91, Ryan Pettit '88, Tom Lang '90, Keith Pittman '95,
and Don Mighell (Texas) '56.
The Board will be involv^ with all facets of the chapter to
insure continued success.
The chapter does need your support now. This fall,we need
everyone to support the chapter, not necessarily with cash,
but by attendance at events held by the chapter for the
graduates. Remember, notfor college days alone. Let's
make this the best Homecoming ever for lota Sigma.
Many plans are in the works, including a catered tent, and
maybe a Sunday golf outing. If you have suggestionsy call
me at work 800/850-7047 or at home 812/232-5626 and let

me know. Remember, Homecoming is a time for the
graduates to get together.
At the 1997 Norris Pig Dinner, it was announced that the
Lloyd Long Memorial Scholarship is now permanently
endowed, meaning that a scholarship will be given annu
ally in the name of Lloyd Long '72, who passed ad astra in

ThelotaSigma Scholarship Fund still needs your help! We
are working to endow more scholarships for lota Sigma Phi
Gams, so if you have pledged to give to the Fund, please
remember to fulfill your pledge. Send your tax-deductible
donations (checks payable to ISU Foundation) to Kevin
Marks '74 at 784 Pleasant Avenue, Glen Ellyn IL 60137. It's
never too late to donate!
The current balance of the ISGA fund is around $275.(X)
(estimated before copying). Each issue costs aroimd
$125 for postage, copying and envelopes. Newsletters
are mailed to all initiated Brothers of lota Sigma chapter,
as well as a few additional Brothers. No annual dues are
charged, but donations are welcomed any time!

At the '97 Annual Meeting and subsequent Board ofDirec
tors Meeting, the following Brothers will serve as Directors
of the Tau lota Housing Corporation for 1997-1998 term:
Brent Leffel '91 - President; Larry Watson '71 - Treasurer;
Mike Raiser '94 - Secretary;Kirby Bilsland '95, Rolo Miles
'89, Keith Pittman '95, Greg Wilson '98 (undeigraduate),
John Keeling '99 (undergraduate treasurer), and J.R.
