The hockey game this year was a fierce competition. Finally, the undergrads had some steady
goaltending, however, we
were still missing a few
bodies. The game remained
close the entire way and the
1) morale in the locker raom
was high regardless of how
we were playing. All the
undergrads were having a
blast and we shared some
laughs in the locker room and on
the bench. Unfortunately, the out-
come was not favorable ta us, but it
came down to the last couple of seconds in the third period with a last minute rush to make it exciting.
Most of us had begun to run out of gas, so we may need ta introduce a series of training exercises for next
year.
As usual, we stressed playing time over ability. Everyone that participated
had a
smile on
their face at
the end and
lot of the
guys that
came out
want to get
better at
playing,
which can
give us a goal for next year.
All the undergrads would like to thank
those brothers, parents, girlfriends,
and friends that came out to support
us. After all, we are fighting for the
pride of Epsilon Alpha.
And grads beware... we have a few
rushes that have played decent
hockey in the past for next year.

A word from the EAFS
Hello Brothers,
Here is a quick update as to the status of our graduate chapter. We
have been working hard on updating the database while establishing
our current events by strengthening attendance.
| am happy to report that all four of our events; the Norris Pig Din-
ner, Exile’s Dinner, the EA Cup hockey game, and Founder's Day
Brunch have all seen an increased average attendance of 8% over
the past year. | want to thank those brothers and their families who
attended in past year, as well as, the undergraduates who assisted
in contacting the brothers to inform them of the events and updat-
ing their information. Yet, by far the method that was most suc-
cessful in bringing out brothers was a phone call or email froma
pledge brother or a close brother who they. keep in touch through-
out the year. | bring this up because in 2010, it will be our 40" Nor-
ris Pig Dinner. We hope to have ‘an overwhelming number of broth-
ers at that event and the best way ta get them to attend the 40" is
to show them a great time at this year's 89" Pig Dinner,

The 2009 Cabinet
met with Brother
Martin to discuss
their plans for the up-
coming year and to ‘touch-
base’ with IHO. Cabinet was very
grateful for this op-
portunity to
bounce ideas off such
a high-ranking Flu.

What we hope to accomplish is a tree list of phone captains; a represen-
tative from each pledge class who would contact his pledge brothers
about upcoming events. And the goal is to have this in place in time to
ensure cur 40" Pig Dinner is a success. If you are already phoning your
brothers to come out to events, or are interested in becoming a phone
captain, please contact myself (cjtang@gmail.com ) or Nolan
(nkennedy@ualberta.ca or cell: 780-938-6990).
Finally brothers, mark your calendars as October 24, 2009 and October
28, 2010 will be the dates for the 39" and 40" Frank Norris Pig dinners.
Fraternally,

large amount of onions and tomatoes swimming in
at least a couple of liters of sauce. Naturally, the
only logical thing to do was to have a chugging
competition between brothers with the remaining
sauce. After all was said and done, the kitchen was
full of shirtless fijis, one of whom became tempo-
