IUDM Raises New Record...Again
Early in the morning on November 15, 2014, Indiana University Dance Marathon raised the total for the amount of
money raised for Riley Children's Hospital. Under the leadership of President Jack "Stepdad" Dooling (2015), Vice
President of Internal Ross "Wilbur" Lubbers (2015), Vice President of External Nick "Neville" Kolar (2015), and Director
of Corporate Relations Will "L.A." Tenbarge (2016), over $3.2 million was raised for Riley. The Pledge Class of 2018
continued the FIJI tradition of being the highest fundraising dancer group by raising over $47,000 under the leadership of
dance captains Jocko "Midnight" Olexa (2018) and Woody "Oscar" Kipp (2018). IUDM 2015 will once again push to break
the record from the year before. The Executive Committee for this year is headlined by three FIJI's, Vice President of
Finance Will "L.A." Tenbarge (2016), Director of Entertainment Sam "Gamgee" Wisen (2017), and Director of Hospitality
Toby "Real World" Orme.
Bike Team Finishes 11th
The bike team looked to bounce back from a bittersweet Little 500 Race in 2014 with a strong
showing in 2015. This year's team was led by two Senior and veteran riders, John "Jockey" Hunzicker (2015) and
Michael "Corky" Khamis (2015). They were joined by two newcomers, Freshman Bobby "Hammer" Coyle (2018) and
Frank "Fingers" Reed (2018). Over Winter Break, the team took a week long trip to Florida to get in some extra
training. The team qualified 20th during qualifications under subpar conditions. The track at 8:15 AM was frozen and
caused a three hour delay later in the day. Since the team was safely in the field, they decided not to attempt to
qualify better after watching Phi Psi and Sigma Chi fail to qualify with three faults each. On April 26, the team took to
the track with the hopes of pulling a big upset. With a raucus Purple Haze behind them, the FIJI bike team was able to
avoid any crashes and stay on the lead lap throughout the entire race. With about forty laps to go, on a yellow flag
following a serious wreck, Michael "Corky" Khamis led the
field for a lap. It was a very encouraging race for the team,
improving nine positions. The team will miss the two senior
riders, but will look to add some new talent in an attempt to
improve on their final standing in next year's race.

Bloomington.

$5,000 through donations, apparel, and ticket
sales for the philanthropy.
