PHI GAMMA DELTA BUILDING COURAGEOUS LEADERS Here is a wrap up of 2024 and our great start to 2025 for Epsilon lota chapter of Phi Gamma Delta: Friendship The privilege of membership in Phi Gamma Delta brings amazing men together each year to promote her brotherhood. In 2024, we were blessed to welcome 17 exciting and capable new brothers into our Epsilon lota chapter, and in 2025, we have already welcomed 3 more new talented men as brothers. In addition to numbers, our brothers have had a full year of brotherhood and friendly activities! Recruitment events, hiking in the Garden of the Gods, FIJI Straight Trickin' (Halloween), Semi-Formal, Christmas Spirits and Gift Exchange, Initiation at IHQ, Spring Break trip to Nashville and Gatlinburg with brothers, Bike Race training in full swing, and other events throughout the year all provided opportunities for our brothers to learn, grow, and enjoy life together. 2024 was an excellent year for many of our friendships. Knowledge In a dedicated effort to maintain our chapter's standing and continue to display the highest scholastic performance out of all men's fraternities at the University of Evansville, our brothers in Phi Gamma Delta at UE achieved an average 3.52 GPA in Spring 2024 and an average 3.54 GPA in the Fall of 2024. That marks 2024 as an incredible year of academic achievement and performance for our chapter. We are looking forward to another year of scholarship and success. Service When it comes to involvement in our Evansville community, at this point in the academic year, the Epsilon lota chapter of Phi Gamma Delta has volunteered over 980 hours. Some of our largest volunteer opportunities are in partnership with Courtney Johnson's Young & Established, the Evansville EasterSeals Rehabilitation Center, College Mentors for Kids, Deaconess Hospital, and UE's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. These opportunities to give back to the Evansville community are an excellent way for our chapter to give back. We are incredibly thankful to have brothers who give their all and sacrifice personal time to serve those in need. Morality We are proud to have rewarded 5 undergraduate men at the University of Evansville with our Courageous Leader Scholarship. This scholarship was awarded during the Spring of 2024 to reward Greek-unaffiliated men for their moral character and display of our 5 values at the University of Evansville. Similarly, during the fall semester, we were able to award 5 undergraduate men at the University of Evansville with the Black Diamond Scholarship. This scholarship was awarded in the fall prior to recruitment. Not only does it encourage students with incredible moral backgrounds and scholastic achievement in high school to acquaint themselves with greek life, but the Black Diamond Scholarship and Courageous Leader scholarships allow our chapter to show these men that their moral actions and scholastic achievements are significant and should be acknowledged. We are grateful for our privilege and fortunate to have the resources to provide experiences like this for men at the University of Evansville. Excellence This year, our second annual FIJI Island Week raised $1,390. We are very grateful for all the support throughout our week of fundraising! The proceeds from FIJI-A-Tour and giveback nights during Island week go to support families with loved ones serving in the military. We were proud to have sponsorships from Vertical eXcape, Crumbl, Texas Roadhouse, Azzip Pizza, Bubbas 33, and the Evansville Otters. As a brotherhood, we were able to achieve high scholarship performance, maintain great fraternity standing with the University of Evansville, PHI GAMMA DELTA and place a great emphasis on Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence. As a result of years of dedication and hard work, on April 5, 2025, the UE Center for Student Engagement named Epsilon lota the 2024 Chapter of the Year. Additionally, we are proud to announce that our Purple Legionnaire, Brother Jeremy Buente, was recognized as the Chapter Advisor of the Year. New Chapter Initiative - 1848 Club We invite our esteemed graduates to consider supporting their undergraduate brothers facing financial hardships through the 1848 Club-A new FIJI initiative to collect donations that support Phi Gamma Delta's mission and strengthen the chapter's impact. Donations will fund scholarships for brothers who excel academically yet require financial assistance. The brothers deserving of these scholarships not only demonstrate remarkable work ethics but are also committed contributors who actively volunteer in our philanthropy events, giving back to the community. They are involved in house improvement projects, enhancing our chapter's facilities and fostering a vibrant brotherhood.
