JERRY JONES
Brother Jerry B.
Jones,
'37, died on
November 21, 1936, at 5 o'clock in the after
noon. His death was caused by cerebral
menengitis resulting from a sinus infec
tion.

Jerry's death was a great shock to the
Fraternity, leaving his Brothers at a great
loss. His wonderful personality made him
known everywhere, not only in the Chapter
and on the campus, but everywhere in the
vicinity. Jerry was born in Hutchison, Kan
sas, in 1915, and made a brilliant record in
his

career while

He was an
Eagle scout and was a great leader in the
Scouting movement in Kansas. His various
abilities were readily seen upon his arrival
on the campus. Having been in the Chap

cabinet as Historian.
A character and personality like Jerry's
will never be forgotten, his inlluence has
gone to make us better Brothers and finer
men.

The greatest display of Fiji spirit and
determination to overcome great odds yet
brought to our attention was in the case of
Brother Frank Tomlin. '32.
While convalesing from a serious automobile accident in
which he suffered a brain concussion. Frank
fell from a third story bedroom window
while walking in his sleep. A in'oken back
and cracked pelvis which resulted, nearly

fought his way back. After having been
placed in a heavy cast, the Medicos stated
that it would be a year at least before he

"Having been the editor of the "Wiji Fiji
for a year or so while 1 was in school,
realize how anxious the editor usually is to
get some news of alumni and that it is a
fairly difficult thing to get enough inforniation about the former members of the
House."
The above was sent to the Editor
by a more recent Alumnus who has made
it a point to keep in touch. Brothers, this
paper is written principally for you and
about you and your Brothers, so please tiy
to inform us of anything that is interesting
concerning the fraternity and its graduates.
Houston B. Marshall, '39, will be formally
initiated into the Chapter on Monday. Lovember 23, 1936. Following the initiation
there will be held the annual turkey dinnei
to which all the Brothers are urged to
come. Help us to give thanks for our fra
ternity and for the unmerited benefits
which we all have derived.
