$$HELP, HELP, HELP$$
Your Board of Trustees dislikes the constant necessity of
descrlhlng our dollar problems with Its PI Sigma graduate
Brothers. Yet It Is our responsibility, your fraternity and
a problem common to all of us.
Last year was a record for
dues payments and your additional contributions.
114 gradu
ate Brothers responded and the Trustees felt that with this
growing support, It might be possible to develop a satisfac
tory contingent reserve.
However, a new gas furnace was re
quired last winter and further Installation delays were Im
possible since the old furnace was virtually Inoperative.
This work was funded with $600 received from you and an
$1800 bank loan. The loan was subsequently reduced another
$000 by using a part of the rent payments made by the under
graduate chapter. This has been contrary to our normal pol
icy which set aside the rent receipts for payment of taxes,
water.
Insurance and other annual expenses.
The details of
these actions are shown In the Treasurer's statement pub
lished on the last page. You may also note that our cash
balance or reserve Is at a dangerously reduced level.
Only 44 graduate Brothers have responded thus far In 1958.
Many fajnlllar najnes are missing from the Acknowledgment list
and from this fact alone we are encouraged to believe that
many of you have simply overlooked sending your dues and
contributions to the Treasurer. Last year 19% of the gradu
ate Brothers responded as opposed to a mere 7% so far this
year. We hope you will set a new participation record this
year. Use the enclosed card, write your check now and mall
them both to John Sheppard tomorrow. We need your help.

remember those who had been a part of the PI Sigma Chapter
Of Phi Gamma Delta by making a contribution to the PI Sigma
Educational Foundation as a memorlum to their fealty. An
appropriate notification was sent to the families of the

help us to Improve our 1957 record year of 114 Brothers who contributed $1,302.00. The Class of
six contributing Brothers. Those Brothers residing outside of Pittsburgh are so indicated. The
