A resident of Austin, Texas, he founded Wilson Oxygen and Supply Company, one of the largest independent industrial gas companies in the U.S. He was a generous donor to the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering, the arts, medicine, and many other causes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
