State Phi Gamma Delta LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT FIJI NEWSLETTER As the new year begins, Sigma Mu chapter finds many new changes The FijJi Newsletter is a new surrounding it, A new set of officers, a revised committee system, and a new chapter room to all of the graduates of Sigma for meetings are all promising a bright year ahead, a full semester of activities is al piiblication that will be sent Mu chapter, as x«rell as all of the Fijis in the state of •Mississippi. It is put out by the Graduate Correspondance Committee twice a month to keep ready planned that will inci.ude everyone informed as to what such events as the Norris Pig Dinner in April, a Parents Day for the partnts of all Sigma Mu. the chapter is doing. It is a supplement to our regular pub lication, the BULLDOG FIJI, which is distributed approxi mately three times during the Fijis, and an open house for the people of Starkville and the Mississippi State faculty. A new committee system was de veloped and put into effect at the start of this semester and will hopefully increase the activities of the chapter, as well as increase participation by more of the brothers in the chapter. Several new committees were added, such as the Graduate school year. Almost every brother was present for the party and remarks were made concerning the overall good quality of .the time and effort rushees that attended. , By President HOUSE NEWS into the shaping of our new house we recieved last January. Just re cently a nev? chapter room was completed in the casement of the second house. Brothers Sumrall and Graham were In- charge of the project and did an excellentAon the room. Alsoi: the brothers are pleased to announce that the house has been filled to capacity this semester and there are now kZ members in the Fiji house. Sunday night, Sigma Mu had pledged h new men: Jan Clark, Lucedale, Jr. David Mulholland, Jackson, Pr. John Wallace, Como, Fr. Thomas Wiley, Tupelo, Jr. Each is of high calibur and will be a valuable asset to our pledge program,. The two games that followed were against Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Tau Onega, which also tiirned out as viins for the Phi Ganms, With Phi Ganna Delta holding in the Downtovmer in Columbus and the feature speaker will be Charlie Graham, former Field Secretary for Phi Ganna Delta and currently serving as director of annual fund at Stanford University, We cor dially invite all graduate a perfect 3-0 record, ue' set out brothers and alumni, as well as to play Phi Kappa' Tau, a very all Fijis in Mississippi to attend the Pig Dinner this tough contender, and lost our first gane of the season after a hard fought battle.
