LAMBDA TAKES TOP PLEDGE CLASS
Upholding the high standards of
Lambda chapter, the 1973 rush program gaine d nineteen stalwart n ew
p ledges for Phi Gamma Delta .
The class ranks exceptionally high
academically and their diversified
talents will certainly keep the Phi
Garn name well known in campu s
extra-curricular activities and intramurals. This fa ll the pledges have
already raced to a first place finish
in the ann ual Pumpkin Pie crosscountry race; and three frogs have
played k ey ro les for this season's
fine DePauw varsity football team.
Seeing action at both running back
and flank er, Jim Borling has already
won a starting spot this fall. Old
Gold Day fans saw Jim breakaway
for a 65 yard touc hdown gallop
against St. J oseph's. Jim hails from
Glen Ellyn , Illinois where he gained
AU-State honors in both football and
music.
Sharing time with Jim at flank er
is Kim Suchy. Jim and Kim were
high school rivals, Kim's high school
Hinsdale Central being the traditional rival of Glenbard West. Kim participated in three high school sports
and also gained state honors in music.
T om Mosure is the third ball playe r in the freshman class. Tom plays
linebacke r and defensive end as h e
did in high school in Canfield, Ohio.
At Canfield, Tom captained the football , wrestling, and baseball te ams.
Tom is an engineering major.
In addition to Kim, two other
pledges come from Hinsdale Central
High School. Paul Watt saw action
in three sports at Hinsdale and was
active in class government.
