The midteru scholastic reports have shov;n that the house
index has improved by nearly a full tenth. This indicates a sub
stantial yain,
since under the new index system the rating of an
"A" has dropped from five points to four. From the "B" on dovm
the system has remained the same, however.
It is hoped that by the end of the semester we iiay even im
prove further on this record.
This 3'ear's foreign student is Elaus Rittmann from Pforozheim,
Germany. "Sam" is majoring in Physics and Math and comes from
Karlsruhe University. Recently Klaus was pledged and hopes to be
initiated In the early spring.

In the afternoon the Fljis will entertain a group of
orphans from the St. Joseph's Infant Home in Troy. A Fiji Santa
will give out gifts and prizes to all the joyful youths.
Fall V7eekend was another social success,
as the Fijis played
host to the "Weavers", who entertained the entire student body at
Memorial Chapel on Saturday night. Topping this off, the house

Brother RAYMOND MORRIS, 92, formerly of North Union St.,
Spenceport, K.Y., died November 19, 1961 after a long ill
ness. Brother Morris v;as a, civil engineer until retirement
15 J'ea.r3 ago, and he was a member of Stueben Lodge.
Surviving is his v;lfe, Cornelia K. Morris

Brother MILTON hSKD has recently i;rittcn and published a
fallout shelter manuad and has kindly sent a copy to the
house, he wrote this pamphlet in conjunction with his
position with. Colonial Craftv;ays in Great Barington, Mass,

V/e were sorry to hear that Brother VfALTER J. FRIEDERICS^ has
recently been hospitalized in Roch.ester, K.Y. Here's hopes
for a speedy recovery.

Brother FRAHCIS C, BPAD'T' has recentlj?- nioved to West Virginia
and has become Resident Manager of the Shenandoah
Hotel
in Martinsburg. Brother Bradt informs us that Brother
glen DALton recently visited him at his new home.

TIT.T.AR SHUGG reports that he is now a Ms.rketlng;
Consultant in Newark, Dela.v7are. Brother Shugg was a member
of the Student Council and served as historian and cor
responding secretai-y during his stay here.

Brothers LlVINjSIEOK T. COULTER '55 and EVAN L^ WEBSTER
'59 led the Albany Law School Moot Court Team to a victory
in the regional arguments between lav; schools on Satur-day,
November 23, 196I. The trirmiph was over the University of
Buffalo and the University of Syracuse Lav; Schools.

Brother DAVID L. FARNSVJORTH v;as married to Miss Audrey D.
'Orazio of Burnt Hills on October 14, 196I. Congradulations
from the v.hole Fiji House, Dave.
Foreign Students
Brother ULF HERSSON informs us tha.t he is ncv;
back in the U.S., having finished his v;ork for the Swedish
Cellulose Company in Pamplona, Spain. He is nov; attending
the Wha.rton School of Finance and Co.mmerce at the University
of Pennsylvania in order to get his M3A degree.
Brother SENGT SAVE SCDERBURGH, one of Chi'3 most lov'-al
Fljis, h8,s been keeping in contact v;ith the house regularly.
"Joe" is enjoying himself oack in 3v;eden out v/e all miss
him here.
