FIJI FOUR
XI DEUTERON INITIATES THIRTEEN MEN
On February 13, 1961, thirteen boys were initiated into the Xi Deuteron Chapter at
Western Reserve University. This ceremony represented the end of a probationary period
for these thirteen and the beginning of a new life devoted to the ideals and principles of
Phi Gamma Delta. These young men represent many phases of life; they expect many
different things from college and their adult lives, yet they all hold the same ideals of the
thousands of men before them who pledged their support to Phi Gamma Delta. They have
joined in fraternal association with the present active chapter in hope of being able to pre
serve the chapter's place of distinction among the other fraternities and associations
on campus.
As pledges they helped the chapter win the Homecoming decorations for the second year
in a row. Then just recently as actives they helped win the IFC Singout for the twelfth
time in the last thirteen years. Four of the group were elected to offices in the last
election. Men were placed in positions on the Student Senate, the Student Council, the
sophomore class, and the Interfraternity Council. Because there were two sophomores in
this group and eleven freshmen, these
