school year was typical of
almost any other year. The
one
this
notable

to
was that for the first
time women were a part of
the
College's
Freshman
class.
This
historic
event
was covered by all the local
newspapers, and was even
recognized
nationally
in
several news magazines.

of

confusion, however, is not
to take anything away from
the new coeds. Immediately,

the
whole,
the
women
handled themselves quite
diplomatically,
avoiding
being caught up in all of
the attention This
helped
them to quickly assimilate
into College life. Like the
freshmen
that
came
before
them, they were eager to
be seen on campus, and to
ask
questions
of
the
Upperclassmen.
We
at
Omega Fiji were more than
happy to make them feel
welcome and to answer their
questions.
The
women

College. A fresh spirit of
change can be felt, but it
is
not

on College walk make those
tough academic days a little
more bearable.
