Big Success!
The weather was cool and wet but the day still
started out with a well attended round of golf.
Almost twenty brothers walked the links at
Urbana Country Club. Much thanks goes to Brett
Jacobson, '85 and graduate Brother Penn
Nelson for their help in organizing this year's Fiji
Open.
After the House Corporation meeting the
brothers mingled in our newly completed
basement bar room. Stories of years past were
shared over cocktails, and both grads and

unfortunate circumstances we manged to
accrue a $12,000 debt as of summer '82.
Through the hard work of Tim Murray and former
treasurer, Bradd Easton '84, the debt was
brought under control. The budget planned for
this fiscal year projected our operations would
show a $9,000 gain, or a reduction in the debt to
$3,000. Due to unexpected outstanding debts
owed to national we will probably be in the
$5,000 debt range. This is still a gain for the year
of $7,000.
The budget I drew up for the '83-'84 school
year puts us well into the black by this time next
year. Through more effective money
management the undergraduate chapter has
gained a more sound financial status. As a word
of note, the graduate brothers have a compiied a
debt to the undergraduates of over $8,000. This

Singing turned out to be the order of the night as
is from brothers graduating or moving out
without honoring their debts to the chapter. Ifyou
are aware of any debt you may still owe the
chapter, try to understand we need the money
and would appreciate payment. I will try to get a
