PIG DINNER '83
Pig Dinner is just around the corner and I've
been receiving dozens of positive responses. By
this time you should have received
an
announcement giving ali the deUils of the big
event to take place on April 9th./
Weather permitting, a golf outing will begin at
10:30. Afterwards a meeting with the House
corporation is scheduled. Cocktails are scheduled
for 4:00 at the Chapter House and the dinner for
6:30 at the Urbana Country Club. Do plan to stick
around for the party that will begin at 9:00, as this
will be well completed by April 9.
Thi.s year's guest speaker is Archton President
Lewis Costello (Virginia '55) who will share in our
recognition of Chi lota's oldest brother, A. B.
Sawyer. Many brothers are eligible for both Gold
(50yrs) and Silver (25yrs) Owl Awards, and these
also will be presented. If you have not been
properly contacted and are planning on attending
this years Dinner, please contact me. Hope to see
you at what promises to be Chi lota's largest Pig
Dinner ever.

Much
raised
about
preserving these improvements and
future ones due to the fact that we
hold most of our parties on the first
floor. To relieve the first floor of this
use, we devised a plan which
involved expanding the old bar
room into the adjacent weight room.
The weight room would be
relocated in the active dorm and the
basement would then
become a
useful place to hold our parties. Our
plan was brought before house
corporation who liked it and felt it
was the next important step in
remodelling the first floor. Money
was appropriated from the Buckley^
Fund for the project.
With the aid of Penn Nelson,
Treasurer of House Corporation, a
construction firm was hired this past
fall semester to widen the doorway

John Benson '85.5, and others. We
are aiming to have the basement
completed by Parent's Dance,
March 5th. The whole project is
costing about $2300, where $1100
went to widening the doorway and
the other $1200 for materials for the
unfinished room. We are very proud
