A NOTE FROM THE
PRESIDENT
Since the publication of our last
Boilermaker Fiji, the chapter has had
many successes. Coming back from
Christmas Break, the chapter found
out that we had jumped up to sixth
overall in scholarship among fratern
ities. This was one thing that the old
cabinet stressed very much and one
that we will
stress also. The first
weekend of February we attended
State Day at Indianapolis, and I am
pleased to report that we excelled in
athletics and leadership. Our basket
forward to the remaining of this year
and next year. We are very proud of
the new living room remodeling. We
will try to do more changes in the
house, and we have many plans for
the upcoming year. Three of the
requisites, the Purdue chapter of Phi
Gamma Delta is, ostensibly, an
outstanding chapter. The perspective
which the judges used in selecting us
for this honor will, perhaps, fortell the
reception of future awards. I would
areas that we will be working on are
like to thank Bill Woolverton for his
Pledge Education, Rush, and the
steady improvement of scholarship. I

proferred in submitting this report.
would also like to thank the Board of
Chapter Advisors and House Corpor

advise, and hope that we can con
tinue our fine relationship.

beating Rose Hulman, and as a
chapter we were awarded the Beta
Graduate Cup for most outstanding
chapter in Indiana.

Chapter President
Jim Dodson has been nominated
by the house for the Wilkinson Award.
Jim's devotion to working for and im
proving the community, Purdue, the
house, and himself has manifested
itself in many ways. For the sake of
brevity I won't attempt to expand
upon Jim's outstanding list of activi
ties and honors, but rest assured that

PLAY IT AGAIN...
In the past year the Alpha Graduate
Chapter removed our severely
dillapidated piano and replaced it
with a brand new Yamaha Baby
Grand piano. The new piano is a very
fine and beautiful instrument. The
piano is made of walnut and finished
in a very attractive dark brown. Not
only is the new piano an intricate part
of our living room furnishings, it is
also a very well used tool of fun and
relaxation for our musically inclined
done. The remodeling also consisted
of two new oriental rugs, four new
lamps, a new table, new draperies,
some pictures and plants, and we had
the
wooden
floor
refinished.
The
living room, with the new piano, pro
vides an excellent place for the
Brother's to entertain their guests. We
are very anxious to show off the new
room during the upcoming football
season.

We would like to thank our Alpha

graduate directory committee, will be
putting out a directory of the graduate
brothers of Lambda lota chapter. It
will be something similar to what was
printed in 1971. We hope that the
directory will be mailed to you
sometime before Thanksgiving. We
would appreciate you sending us any
future changes in address so that the
directory can be up to date. Thank
you for all of your cooperation.
RUSH RECOMMENDATIONS
Last year, we took an outstanding pledgeclass. We could never have had a successful rush without your recommendations. A great
number of the rushees that come through the Phi Gam house each year have previously been referred to us by graduate brothers.
Planning for fall rush has already begun. We would appreciate any recommendations that you might provide us. Please cut out the
rush form and mail to to:

MOM'S DAY
Mom's Day was again a memorable
event this year. Many of us are still try
ing to recover from the outlandish
party, but we were able to dig up
some of the final statistics, they are:
125 people ate a buffet dinner
and consumed:
2
2
1
1
gallons of Vodka
gallons of Whiskey
gallon of Rum
gallon of Gin
16 litres of 7-up
8 litres of Coke
and enough tonic and OJ. to
float a ship, as well as two kegs of
beer.
We would also like to add that the
Mary McCarty Club is to be thanked
for their generosity. They gave us a
Video Cassette Recorder, as well as a
set of weights and a horseshoe set to
help our intramurals effort. Thanks
Moms! Thanks also go out to Michael
S. Favo for planning such a great
weekend.
