FEBRUARY 18, 1967
Just over fifty years ago, the brothers of Phi Zeta
Phi, here on the Pittsburgh campus, petitioned and
were granted a charter for the re-establishment of their
chapter, which had been voluntarily ceased in 1870.
Heart
This marked the birth of Pi Sigma. This year we com
memorate the Fiftieth Anniversary of that historic oc
casion, and the fiftieth year of Pi Sigma's devotion and
Sandy Drake
Awarm Smile and a bright personality, coupled with
service to the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
To celebrate, the undergraduates have palanned the
annual Norris Dinner to be held on February 18, 1967
in special recognition of our Fiftieth Anniversary, with
the attendence and support of the graduate brothers
this could be one of the most enjoyable and success
ful dinners in the chapter's history.

A very special program is planned, Guest speaker
will be Archon Secretary, Fred L. Dixon, who has just
recently led a highly successful campaign drive for
California's Governor-elect Ronald Reagon. Acting as

appreciated Section Chief, Bill Morris. Preparations
are now being made to include the attendence of the
original initiating board from William and Jefferson's
Alpha Chapter, as special guests of honor. Golden Owl
Certificates will be awarded to all those living mem

5:00 p.m. at the elegant banquet facilities of Stouffer's
Resuaurant in Oakland. The bar will be open then and
the dinner will start about 6:00 p.m. After the dinner
all brothers are cordially invited to a cocktail hour
and social get-together at the Chapter House, which has
been almost completely remedied since 1964. This will
provide an ideal chance to meet and acquaint yourselves
with the members of the active chapter, reknewing past
Fiji memories.
Inserted in this issue is your invitation and reser
vation form for this gala occasion. Please make everv
effort to attend, for the success of the dinner lies main
ly in your participation and support. You will not want
to miss this special event. We will be waiting to hear
from you soon, and looking forward to seeing you at Pi

Whatever Happened To.,
JT IT
Paul Walker reports that he and his wife Mary have
been spending much of their time in Florida since his
retirement from his practice as an oral surgeon. Paul
was a member of the class of first initiates in 1917;
but be joined the army soon after, serving 20 months
in France. After his return to Pi Sigma in 1919, he was
elected President, and holds the distinction, to our
knowledge, of being the only man to hold the office for
two consecutive years. Paul and his wife currently re
side in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
A registered representative with the firm of David
A. Noyes & Company, Philip Andrews works as a stock
broker in Chicago, Illinois. Philip also served as Pre
sident during his years at Pi Sigma. He makes his home
in Bartlett, Illinois with his wife Alice.
David Andrew is the store manager and acting phar
macist at the People's
Service Drug Store in Chesa
peake, Virginia. Active in the community, he recently
was the general chairman of the Great Bridge Jaycees
Christman Project. Dave and his wife Cassie, live with
their eight month old son David III in Chesapeake. He
writes that he is
anxious to hear from any Fiji gradu
ates in that area.
Robert Engelmeier has just co npleted his under
graduate work, and is enrolled in theGraduate School o
Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh. As a n^rn er
of Pi Sigma he served as President in 1964-65, an was
active in the Interfraternity Council, sports program.
Bob lives in Pittsburgh.

This is your inyitation and your special reservation form for
the Pi Sigma norris Dinner to be held on February 18, 1967* in
celebration of our fiftieth year as a chapter in Phi Gamma Delta.
The festivities v/ill be held in the banquet room at Stouffer's Res
taurant in Oakland ~
located at 126 K. Craig Street, Just about a
black and a half from the Chapter House.
The bar will open at
5sOO P.M* and dinner will start at about 6:0C P.M.

The menu features
After the dinner, all brothers are invited over
to the Chapter House for a cocktail hour and general get-together.
The cost of the dinner is S7»00 per plate.
The program for the evening will center on the recognition of
Pi Signa's first fifty years since its initiation in 1917«
