Homecoming Weekend will come to Union College campus
on October 20th this year.
The Union Eleven will face
RPI in the true spirit of the gridiron rivalry so character
istic of each meeting of the two teams.
At 11:00 AM there
will be a meeting of Chi Association presided over by
Brothers Bruce D. Burns, George E. Buckbee, and Herman 1,
Mauser.
Lunch will follow the meeting.
During the after
noon cocktails will be served at the chapter house, followed
by an informal gathering in the evening at which time we
hope that the returning alumni might renew old frienships
and simultaneously experience new bonds of congeniality.
The entire affair promises to be a most festive occasion.
Brother Burns will be coming in all the way from California
so. we are hoping that the rest of you will come from your
own hometowns.
Due to unforseen circumstances Brother Alfons Wagner
•63 has had to resign his post as chapter treasurer.
A.lthough it is most "unfortunate to lose such a capable
officer, Chi has found another noteworthy treasurer in
Brother Richard T. Coulter.
Brother Coulter has already
ably proven himself capable of handling such a responsible
\r\n-2-
position by willingly clearing and balancing house expenses
during the summer.
We are pleased to learn that the chapter
has accumulated by scrupulous planning a nice tidy bankroll
of $2500, which will be used, for overall house improvements.
It appears that the house is beginning to pick up
intellectually with a growing trend toward improvement.
This year Fiji ranked 4th with an overall index of 2.427
out of the seventeen houses on campus and was ranked second
in showing the greatest
positive improvement.
Chi is pleased to announce the names of the following
sophomore iniates who took their oaths of loyalty to- Phi
Gamma Delta September 15th, after first spending a strenuous
week before classes getting the house in shape for the
coming semester. The new Brothers are: Brother Paul D. Burns
- Westv/ood, New Jersey; Brother Albert C. Holumzer- Kingston,
New York:; Brother James R. Nev/ell- Canandaigua, New York;
Brother Richard E. Robbins- Allendale, New Jersey; Brother
Mark C. Schwartz- Poughkeepsie, New York; Brother John P.
Taylor- Mamaroneck, New York; Brother Gerald E. WeigelSouth New Berlin, New York; and Brother James H. WilsonOswego, New York.
