Despite some poor service at the hotel, everybody had a great

attended to support Sigma Omicron. Also thanks are in order to David

as chairmen of the event.

SUMMER RUSH
With rush for the summer rapid
ly approaching, the chapter is once
again in full force in organizing our
efforts. On March 22, we had our first
rush party at the house with about 30
young men attending. The event, we feel
was a tremendous success. This years
rush chairmen are Keith Mott and Steve
Cobb and they have some great plans
for this summer, of which we hope to
let you know about soon. Over the past

years we have had great support from
our Fiji Graduates and once again we
ask for help in any manner to aid in
a good strong rush.
If you know any
man planning to attend O.S.U. let us
know his name. Also if you would like
to have a rush party at your home this
summer please contact either Keith or
Steve. Because of rather small pledge
classes in past years, we are really
shooting for a good strong 30 man class

PRESIDENT'S
LETTER
Dear Brothers,
As the 1974-75 school year comes to a close, I think it is
time to reflect a little on the past years accomplishments here
at Sigma Omicron. We started our year with a rather disappoint
ing rush, but we knew what we had facing us and came up with some
excellent pledges in open rush after school reopened.
The Archons gave the chapter a vote of confidence in December
that we could reestablish a good rush and stable finances, and I
feel that we have proved ourselves well. Under the dedicated work
of our past treasurer, Joe Bush, and our current treasurer ,Lon Kile,
we have almost alleviated the tremendous debt which faced us two
years
ago.
We howvvhave a six man pledge class , the largest spring pledge
class in several years and we are already off to a great start with
summer rush.
Over 30 rushees from all over the state attended our
spring rush party, March 22, which in itself was a fantastic partyThe weather cooperated with us and we had a great band playing on
the patio. We have set a goal of 30 pledges for next fall.
Graduate relations have also picked up in the last year.
We
had the largest Pig Dinner attendance in our chapter's history on
February 22, in Okc. It was really great to see so many of our own
graduate brothers back to support us. The support from graduate
brothers in the past year has been excellent , and I feel that this
support is one of the prime factors in our increasing overall stab
ility.
We have moved up 4 or 5 places overall in scholastic standing
and have moved back into the Spartan League of intramurals (Frater
nity *A') after being in the (Athenian 'B') for two years.
Finally, as of April 1st, the "Sigma Omicron of Phi Gamma Delta
Building Fund" was created. This fund was started because the chap
ter is here to stay and this fund will possibly be the basis for
vast house improvements or even a new house in the future. Overall
the morale is high and the brotherhood is good. Things are looking
better than ever before and I cordially invite all Graduate Brothers
to come by and visit Sigma Omicron.

\r\nFIJI
ISLAND
The Annual Fiji Island Party was held April 18 and 19. All in
all the party was a great success and everyone had a great time. In
the hold of tradition, the yard was decorated with large cane huts
and there was a rope bridge spanning a blue water pond which was
fed by a graceful waterfall. The Luau was Friday night at the house
followed by a kegger out at Lake Carl Blackwell. Saturday Night
was the party with dancing to the band Elm Street who played an
hour long encore.
True Fiji hospitality reigned supreme all week
end .

l i t t l e gammas
"The Little Gammas", Our womens auxillury, like always have
been very helpful to our chapter this year.
They have served as
hostesses to several of our parties and as their yearly gift to
the house, they put in many hours of work to sew new curtains for
the basement windows.
Also they spent several days in work help
ing prepare for the island party.
Besides their hard work, they
have had several fun functions here at the house that were full
of fun and excitement. Our hats are off to these hard working
females who truly PUMP PURPLE here at Sigma Omicron.
\r\nSPORT S
Sigma Omicron once again was very active in intramrual sports
this year participating in football, swimming, basketball, and
volleyball. Our volleyball team finished with a perfect 5-0 rec
ord season. This qualified us for the university finals but we
