NEWSLETTER
DELTA COLONY
OF
PHI GA^nyiA DELTA
3rd Edition
August 21, 1969
Dear Delta Colony Brother's and Graduates,
Well, it looks like summer has gotten by
us and school is just over the hill. We have
much work ahead of us in fall rush; we have
really got to get ready to tackle it for the
first time. Our final summer rush function
will be held in Jackson at the Jacksonian
Motel on Interstate 55 North on August 30.
We will have a suite of rooms for the night
party and pool privileges during the day.
As our crowd will not merit the expense of a
dance, the Informal approach, which we have
all learned works so well, will be. used. We
will have snacks along with the other goodies
at night.
Members and rushees are encouraged
to bring dates.
The activities can begin around 1:00 p.m.
with the night time fun starting about 7:30.
I hope all of the members and gradtiates can be
there by 11:00 a.m. so that we can get oriented
and be ready for our guests. I want to impress
upon you the importance of your attendance at
the party. I hope many of you graduate brothers
can be with us as well, since you are. an
effective element in our rush program,, Would
each of you that V7e can expect to be present
let me know before the party date?
\r\nRUSHEES
Again, if any of you know of a boy that
will be flt State this fall who fits our
requirements please let me know his name, so
that he can be invited.
This invitation
should apply to those in the Jackson area, since
it is the area of the party, but we will need
the names before, formal rush begins.
FIJI ACADEMY
The FIJI Academy, which is held every two
years, vjill be attended by several of our
members this year. I don't know if I V7ill get
all the names, but 1 think Phil Abernathy,
Bill Howard, Mike. Farrow, Norman Williamson,
and maybe others will be there for our Colony.
From what these men will learn we will have a
much better operated and efficient colony.
You guys better keep good notes, because we.
will really be anxious to hear from you on the
30th. Have a good time for all of us.
That is It for now; keep me informed about
your attendance at the party and of any names
that you feel v/e need. See you all on the 30th.
Fraternally,
Mac Wall
