Brother LEIP DOFDE, a former H.E.L.P. student at Union
from Denmark, reports that he will accompany the ajnba.sBador
from Denmark to Malaysia, as a diplomatic attache.
Since his
country ha,s never before ha.d an embassy in MaJ..aysin., Brother
Donde' B job wil.l certainly be v. challenging one.
Brother
Donde also mentioned (ra.ther vehemently, in fret) tha.t the
Chi Taraa has been nailed to his 1958 address for all the
years since then.
The "v/rcng address" problem has been a
recurrent one vund v/e promise that, v/ith the help of our new

Union College has a. new president.
Garter Dard-dson has
accepted the post of President of the Association of American
Colleges and therefore ha.s resigned as president.
Toda^y the new president's na-me was '"nrcunced.
rle is Dr.
Harold C. Martin, a graduate of Kartv/ick College (1937)5 he
took his maister's degree at the University of llichtgan in
1942 and his doctorate in comparative literature at Har
vard in 1954.
He will be inaugurated this fall.
In a tele
phone interview, Dr. Martin stated that he was "delighted
^nd proud to be coming to Union College."
may already know,
But all this you
\lhc.t was the student reaction?
The Concordiensis editor has described the rea.ction as
poor.
Many coraplalned about the way the nev/s v/as promul
gated (the newspapers knew before the students).
Certainly
it seems thai the college community should be informed be
fore the general public on news such as this.
The Concordy
editor's implication that many students would conde'nn the
new president for this fiasco vras completely unjustified, in
my opinion.
