SECTION CONVENTION
This year the Section Convention was held at Utah State and the "Cactus
Club". During the serious part of the convention, we discussed drug abuse,
the meaning of the ritual, big brother-little brother relationships, and
rush. Paul Beyer of Upsilon Sigma won the "Fiji Bowl" with Alpha Sigma win
ning the "Also Ran Award." In the "Fiji Laugh-In", Upsilon Alpha won with
probably the best joke ever told. Pete Cooke of Upsilon Sigma received a
bar stool safety belt for his outstanding performance at the "C.C." We
would like to thank Charles Windham of Upsilon Sigma for the great effort
he put forth in organizing and carrying out the convention.
PIG DINNER
The Norris Pig Dinner will be held May 1, 1970 in Logan. We would
like to see as many graduates as possible return for this annual occasion
Stephen H. Edwards, Assistant Executive Secretary, will be the guest speaker.
Formal invitations will be sent out soon.
NEW PLEDGES
After several weeks of hard rushing, we picked up three new pledges.
Burl Bachus, Peter VanOrden, and Lonnie Martin. All show a great desire
to become loyal "Fiji's".
I'm still sending out rush applications, so if
you know of any good men, let us know.
PURPLE GARTER PARTY
On February 21, we held our annual Purple Garter Party. All of the
brothers had a good time and many of them felt that the costumes this year
\r\nwere the best ever.
We would like to congratulate Kim Schvaneveldt and
his date in winning the Highest Garter contest. Harry Hadaway and Jill
also attended the party. Next year we would like to see more graduate
brothers at our parties.
VISITORS
This week Jim Mackey and **Fat Jack" Aldrich are visiting us.
Both
are on leave from the service. We would like to remind all the graduate
brothers that our door is always open to you and your families.
