Graduate brothers,

The 1979-80 year will be an agressive period of change for the
y
,
Epsilon Lambda chapter.
The chapter has sucessfully lobbied for CETA funds
y(Comprehensive Employment Training Act.)
This program will enable us to
/ / match the government's funds 1 for 1 up to a $6,000 limit thereby creating
/
a $12,000 improvement fund.
The only stipulation upon this grant is that
the work must comply with the East Lansing housing construction codes.
There will be no federal directives attached to the use of the money.
This year we were able to get approval for $3,400 (total with mat
ching funds = $6,400.) These funds will allow us to make the following
improvements in the house structure: 1) Electrical (partial rewiring) est.
$2,000.
2) Repair of dormitory roof est. $2,400.
3) Plumbing repair of
1st and 2nd floor showers est. $1,400. 4) Painting of the outside struct
ure and repair of soffits est. $1,000. Total: $6,400.
At this time we are $1,300 short for the necessary match. The
money will have to be available by July 10, 1979 for Epsilon Lambda to
qualify for the program.
So far, we have received $2,100 from the follow
ing sources: Parent's Fund $1,400,
Gradute Donations $300, and Allotment
from the Chapt^ Budget $400. The Parent's Fund has been a heavy contri
butor to the chapter for House Improvements in the past and hopefully in
the~future. In January of this year, we r£aotivated__a Graduate Donations
Account whereas donations are directly deposited in this account with hames^
and the amount of the donations being recorded. The funds are earmarked
for House Improvements and can be withdrawn only by a signature
of the
Purple Legionaire and then authorized by the Housing Corporation. The
idea behind this is to insure that the funds will not be used for house
expenses.

Please return this form with your voluntary dues.
Moke your check payable to "Phi Gamma Delta Alumni Fund."
\r\nThe chapter in the past few years has also spent substantial sums
out of its own operating budget for improvements such as a new kitchen oven
carpeting, and re-upholsterred furniture.
Next year through the combined
efforts of the Parent's Fund, Graduate Donations and Special Fund raising
projects from the xmdergraduates we hope to apply for a $6,000 matching
grant. This grant would go toward replacing the existing windows in the
main part of the house in order to conserve energy. However, right now
we need your support through graduate contributions to meet the $1,300
ampount. Please give generously to insure that Phi Gamma Delta remains
a force on campus and a great place to come back to visit.
Fraternally Yours,
R. John Fattore '80
