ALPHA HOSTS ANNIVERSARY EKKLESIA
On August 12-16, the 150th Anni
versary Ekklesia took place at the
Westin William Penn in Pittsburgh.
Brothers from ail over the United
States and Canada made their way to
western Pennsylvania to attend the
sesquicentennial meeting.
The Ekklesia included many seri
ous business sessions along with an
historic day trip. Stops on the day trip
included visiting Cannonsburg, the
site of Phi Gamma Delta's founding,
and Washington and Jefferson Col
lege, home ofthe Alpha Chapter, for a
150th anniversary ceremony. In
Cannonsburg, the sites visited were
the log cabin, the Jefferson Historical
Society and the Fort Armstrong land
mark. There was also a viewing ofthe
100th anniversary film, made at the
1948 Ekklesia. In Washington, high
lights included the Phi Gamma Delta
Gateway, the Alpha Chapter house
and an historical display. All went well
and plenty of new friendships were
made. The next Ekklesia is planned
for San Antonio, TX,and hopefully it
will go as well as the 150th.

Chapter Room
Restoration Needed
Once again the school year is upon
us. Hopefully, all of you graduate
brothers had an enjoyable summer.
Unfortunately, the undergraduate
brothers' summer was tarnished upon
our return to school.
Over the summer, the Alpha
Chapter House underwent some im
provements. The majority of these
improvements were successful;
unfortunately one major foulup did
occur. During the renovation, the
contractors hired by W&J destroyed
valuables in the Alpha house chapter
room. Regrettably, it seems as if no
relief or restitution is forthcoming
from the contractors.
Most ofthe items needed for chapter
meetings are no longer within our pos
session, and we are financially unable
to restore the chapter room at this time.
