HOMECOMING '79
A GREAT SUCCESS
by Brian Koma
This year's Homecoming celebration
was the best in recent memory, thanks to
the hard work of Gary Pezze ('81). Acting
on his own initiative, Gary singlehandedly
put together a buffet dinner for the gradu
ates, brothers and pledges with the help of
a local catering company that was really
fantastic.
For five dollars per person, you could
eat as much as you wanted. There was also
a feeling of brotherhood that had not
existed at previous Homecoming celebra
tions because the whole thing took place
under one roof. In years before, some
graduates would go to Laseks in South
Oakland. There was no need for that this

Many Improvements
^^ALUV
Made In House
H^xjse.
By MARK JENNINGS
Through the past half a year the Fiji
house has gone through some major
cosmetic improvements. All of which have
highlighted the construction and renova
tion of last year. The front and back yard
were the areas that received the most
attention this summer. The grass was well
fertilized early last spring and it has
certainly paid off with healthy lawns in the
front and the back yards.
Railroad ties were installed to define a
parking area for five cars and the garage
was cleaned out to make room for a sixth
car. A barbeque pit was also built with a
spit for a possible pig roast.
At the Fijiland retreat this year
Brothers Mark Uminski, Bill and Jim Wal
lander filled the garage with three cords of
split wood to keep the rest of us warm
through the long winter. The other major
addition was a weight room which was the
old 'lounge' in the basement. This has gone

over well with the athletic enthusiasts of
the house.
