This is the first NewsleLter put together by the new

RHO PHtt COMPUTER
As most of you know, the undergraduate Chapter has used
the computinR center at ROse― Hulman to facilitate the work
of the Treasurer, the Graduate Relations Committee, and
the Communications Committeeo These faci■ ities have proved
invaluable to the Chapter in its desire to keep aocurate
records and proceSS information efficiently。
However, due to many factors, the computing center at Rose
is rapidly becomminR woefully inadequateo Computer memory
is harder to acquire3 0ur cOnfidential files aFe nOt aS
safe as we would likel the travel to the lnstitute makes
it difficult to use data contained there at any given moment:
the 90down― time" the system periodically experiences causes
'de■ ays in many duties such as Chapter Bill disbursements:
finally, the likelihood that we wi■ l have to pay fOr the
use of computer time is increasin3 at Rosee
To circumvent these problems and to improve on other less
critical areas, the Undergraduate Chapter has decided to
puFChase an Applё ltt microcomputero lt will include a dual
disc― drive and line printere AccOmpanying the elimination
Of above mentioned problems, this computer should drarFtatiCal̲
ly imprOVe the Overall efficiency of the Chaptere We will
be able to keep end easily update mOre extensive gradun.te :

Metro area updates will be much easier, current committee
expenditures and kitchen inventories can be maintained;
phone bi■ l assimiliation and cOmputation (now a very time
consuming task)can be efficiently executed: also, detailed

For the purchase of this computer we are relying entirely
on Graduate donations. Both the Undergraduate Chapter and
those on the House Corporation feel there is sufficient

GRADUATE NEWS
Gerry Dail (078)lhas a new member in his family8 daughter
Bree Anna. Very soon he and his famlly will be saying g。 6d―
bye to the Military for Lafayette, IN and ALCOA as a project
engineer。
