This accomplishment is largely due to
the amount of graduate support and

achievements include a 96 percent
reduction in accounts receivable, a new

of helping girls unload their cars and
move into their dorm rooms during
Women's Rush Week, the Cerebral

with her. We are all looking toward a

Mrs. Culbertson Is the wife of the late

we took first place in a survival of the

The Softball team last fall finished
with a record of 8-3 and made it to the
quarterfinals of the playoffs. Our wrest

tie for third. Kevin Cordell finished first
in his weight bracket in that tournament.
Also, the track team finished fourth at
the track meet despite a rush of injuries
that put us on meet ivy.
This year, our co-ed softball team
made it to the semi-finals of the co-ed
tournament. The flag football season is
just about to begin and the team has
been practicing diligently. The team will
be sporting new white jersey's that the

much excitement surrounding the begin

Intramural camp for now.
The brothers review semester plan for activities and give suggestions and comments on the calendar flow
charts. The organizational framework is set for another great year ahead.

\r\nSUMMER RUSH '85
by Steve Allen, '87
Rush Chairman, '85
Tracy Kinsinger and myself made up
the rush team this summer with the
help of a handful of other gams that
had time to help. The fact that there
were only two of us was the biggest
problem. One or two more rush chairmen
would have made a big difference.
I think the ideal plan, in our case,
would be to have a third man who is
skilled with a pen and doesn't mind
having a phone attached to his ear
about half the time. The other two men
could do the leg work and the actual
entertaining while the third made con
tact with rushees by letter and over the
phone.
Anyway, Tracy and I made out well.
We basically took rushees out for lunch
and dinner, sometimes movies or golf
when they had time. The issue of dry
rush put a damper on having large par
ties and what have you. The lunch and
dinner dates mainly concerned the
Oklahoma City area rushees. Tracy and

Dallas, Muskogee and other surrounding
cities to rush there. The Alumni in these
towns were very receptive to us. . .
especially in Tulsa (Kent Bogart, Lindsey
Perkins and Noel Welsh).
Although much time was spent on a
one-to-one basis with rushees, we did
have some rather large weekend parties
including a Grand Lake weekend that
Randy Hill made possible through much
generosity; not to mention all the times
he let Tracy and I gather with a few
rushees for a poolside talk about Phi
Gam. We had a Tenkiller Lake weekend
and went to Blue Ribbon Downs the

same weekend. We rented a Winnabago
and took about 12 rushees to Dallas for
a weekend. Then, with the help of
lyiichael Thomas, Randy Hill, Dub
Adams Catering, and some-not-sorespectable women, we put on the best
statewide of any house. It included:
1. A Friday night at the House with

barbeque, spirits and an evening of
great fun.
2. Saturday morning brunch on the
patio.
3. A trip to Malibu Grand Prix where all
the rushees raced cars until they
wanted no more.
4. An afternoon of swimming at Michael
Thomas' house.
5. A work-out sauna and steam bath at
the Central Park Athletic Club (thanks
again to Michael Thomas).
6. Then an evening fish fry with Dub
