Lambda is Proud of Fall Pledge Class
Lambda of Phi Gamma Delta is
proud to introduce the fall pledge
class . We here at Lambda sought out
the cream of the crop of those men
going through rush, and we came up
with the best . With these men we are
assured of continued excellence and
achievement for years to come. We
wish to present these fine young men
to you now.
Bill Tipton hails from Jasonville,
Indiana, and plans to start a practice
in law once he leaves the black-andgold of DePauw. Duncan MacFarland comes to DePauw from Lexington, Kentucky. Duncan plans to
major in English composition, and
watch out, freshman women, for this
guy is a lady-killer! Dave Bergland

Dave is majoring in economics here
at DePauw, and is going to be a val-

uable asset to Fiji's intramural program. Mark Ingold continues to
keep the Lambda tradition of having
someone from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, in
the house. Mark plans to major in
economics , and is also starting fullback for the DePauw football team.
Coming from Kendallville, Indiana , Steve Stroman wishes to pursue
a career in medicine. If anyone is
capable of achieving that task, Steve
has got the determination and endurance to pull it through. Jim Ringer
hails from Wilmont, Indiana, and
wants to get into veterinary medicine. Jim will be another fine addition
to our intramural program. Tom
Kling comes all the way from
Armonk, New York to attend DePauw. When Tom isn't taking pictures for the campus newspaper, he

This is my third year here. I feel
we have accomplished a great deal.
My first responsibility is the food
budget and to see we maintain a well
balanced diet. With soaring food
prices we have managed to keep
within the budget.
We strive for etiquette in the dining room. Periodically we have faculty dinners and dinner exchanges
with sororities. This adds a bit of
spice to an evening meal.
Last fall we were happy to entertain for dinner Dr. and Mrs. Rosser,
the then new DePauw President and
Mr. and Mrs . George Dirks from
Indianapolis. It was a most enjoyable evening for all.
The Mothers Club here at Lambda
is quite active and very generous.
Last spring they gave us the money
to paper and paint the entire first
floor.
We are proud of the new Gold draperies the House Corporation furnished us giving the first floor a rich
new look.
I was here in June for a very successful Alumni Day and received
many compliments on the new face
lift for.the house.
Perhaps I should say I feel quite
comfortable and elated to be a housemother at Phi Gamma Delta, my son
and late husband both being "Zeta"
Fijis.
It is indeed a plPasure for me to
work with so many fine young men
who are so appreciative and kind .
Sincerely,
Merle Sinclair, Housemother
