Dear Orojuate Brothers,
It may seem as though our 77th Annual Pig Dinner was just last weekend, but time
flies when you are having fun and our 78th Annual Pig Dinner is already taking shape. The
brothers and I have already been working very hard in hopes of making this Pig Dinner the
biggest and best to date. We all know how hard it is to fit things into a busy schedule, so this
year we thought we would write you early, in hopes of enabling you to fit this Pig Dinner into
your schedule.
This year to avoid problems with room reservations and to better accomodateyou, the
house has elected to reserve a blxk of rooms for Phi Gamma Delta Graduate Brothers
exclusively. To reserve your room, simply call the Gateway Center at l-(515)-292-8600.
Hopefully this new arrangement will make lodging less of a hassle for both you, the graduate
brother and us, the active chapter. Another change in the format of the 78th Annual Pig Dinner
will be that of our after-dinner speaker. Instead of the usual one speaker this year, we will
have 3 or 4 speakers. Each of the 3 or 4 speakers will speak briefly on the experiences of their
era in the house. The banquet itself will be held at the Schemann building at the Iowa State
Center.
This letter is only the first of several mailings you should be recieving in the coming
months. Your reply cards will be enclosed in future mailings.
We all hope to see you on March 21 st and 22nd, 1986, especially our Gold and Silver
Owl recipients which are the classes of 1936 and 1961 respectively. The spirit of the slogan
"Phi Gamma Delta is not for college days alone " is well remembered here at Alpha lota. Please
feel free to contact Steve Walker ('88), Mike O'Hare ("88), or myself with any questions or
suggestions you may have regarding Alpha lota's 78th Annual Norris Pig Dinner.
