Xi Deuteron on World Wide Web
The Internet is radicallychanging the
way that information is exchanged between
parties. A summer-long project was taken
up by Jeremy Schroetter *96, Vincenzo
Sainato '97 and Mike Dion '% to be one of
the first Phi Gamma Delta sites on the web.
Xi Deuteron's page is now up and running
with updates of edl current events at the
house. There are also lists of current
brothers and pledges, graduate brothers,
committees, links to other Fiji home pages
and other recreation areas. The Chapter
has other plans for the page, such as history
pages and a virtual tour of the chapter
house. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. If you have Internet access,
check out Xi Deuteron's home page at:

Questions and suggestions can be e-mailed
to Jeremy Schroetter, jas26@po.cwru.edu,

The Xi Deuteron Potpourri
Chapter President's
Report
The brothers of Xi Deuteron are having a
great year. A successful rush brought our
numbers up to 50, including 14 pledges.
With only three graduating this year, we
will be very strong again next fall. The
house is once again at capacity, making life
very busy for those of us living in.
Scholarship continues to be the main
focus of the Chapter. With positive peer
pressure and a great program, we were able
to raise our house GPA two-tenths of a
point to 2.89. This is not what we
ultimately have our sights on, but it is a
step in the right direction. Service to the
community is also important to fraternity
Ufe. Four brothers still volunteer their time
to do the chains for the football team every
other week. "Budd a Park in Coventry" also
attracted many of the brothers. The
program's goal was to provide a fun, safe
and attractive place for area youth to play.
The chapter is also looking to win the
President's Cup this year. Taking three
awards last year— (Chapter Management,
Rush Excellence and Graduate Relations),
more than any other fraternity, makes this a
very reachable goal. If our scholarship
improves again, we a very good chance.
We are also doing well in intramurals,
currently in second place. A first in tennis
and a second in football have powered us to
this lofty position. A likely strong showing
in soccer and showing up for volleyball
should give us a fall semester victory.
Stop by the house any time. Introduce
yourself and swap stories with the brothers.
We are always happy to have you.

As the school year starts, the majority of
the 29 brothers living in the chapter house
are sophomores. As memy of us CWRU
graduates know, this year is possibly the
roughest. As many of us also know, if you
don't start keeping up with your school
work, you will find yourself in a hole too
deep to get out. Believe me, 1know from
20/20 hindsight that keeping up with your
schoolwork is important! At Phi Gamma

BCA meetings we demand it. We also
encourage leadership. The opportunity to
