Raisor Sharpens Image

Dtpauw sanior Michael L. Raisor has left his mark on iota Sigma and Phi Gamma
Delta. Raisor. 23, a Social Studies education major, served as President in 1994 and
was IFC Treasurer fo' the Fall of 1994.
'1t was an exciting time to be president.In the end all the hard work paid off," said
"Blade" as he is known to the under-graduates.
His accomplishments are distinguished and abundant. He created a new pledge
education program that received the 1994 Order of Omega Award for best
Piedge/Associate education prog'am.
He also served as Rush chairman in 1391 and spring of 1995 and as Kitchen
steward in 1991 and 1993.
In addition to his chapter roles he has s^ved the campus community too. He was a
Sycamore Ambassadcx. a member of Blue Beret and a Union Board member as well.
He said that he is noticing several change since he first joined. "We now have
functioning committee systems, something that was really nonexistent when I got
h»'e."He said that the fraternities image has changed also. "I believe our reputation is
the best it has ever been."
He said that more on-campus involvement, community service and strong graduate
foundation remem.bering that "...not for college days alone."
His immediate goals include becoming a field secretary for Phi Gamma Delta. He
would like to be an advisor for a university or possibly going to law school after serving
the fraternity.

Terre Haute native Kirby Bilsland, 22, is already looking forwerd to contributing his
time in lota Sigma as a g-aduate.
Bilsland served as Corresponding Seaetary in 1993 and also as Alpha Psi Pledge
Class President. He was also Rush chairman in 1992 and 1993.
Pledge Educator in
the fall of 1992, and Philanthropic chairman in the spring of 1992. He recently rode
Tandem and was Social chairman. SEE BILSLAND page 3

He is a Reaeation and Sports Management major. He worked for the Terre Haute
Parks this past summer and is a member of the Student Recreation Association. He is
interested in resort management and plans to go on towards yaduate school within
the next four years.
He credits his success to having good leadership skills and a desire inside to
continue to strive for excellence. He was one of ISU's Mover & Shak«' in 1994. He
received the 5 Values Award in 1993 and 1994. He has contributed by making major
improvements in two of the house's rooms
He would like to see even more changes for the future. He thinks that the chapter
size is ideal and that brotherhood is as essential for it to steadily increase.
The MIFCA Experience
The chapter sent Jason Hanchar, Hammond sophomore and Paul Mick, Hammond
sophomore to the Midwest Inter Fraternity Council Association which was held In
Chicago on Feb. 23-26.
Hanchar. who is the current IFC representative and Social chairman attended
sessions on chapter image.
Mick, who is currently serves as Pledge Educate and Graduate Relations,
attended sessions dealing with membership education.
This is the first time in morethan four years that the chapter has sent a delegate.
Pig Dinner Speaker Announced
Jerry Brown lota Sigma 74 will speak at the 24th Annual Frank Norris Pig Dinner
which will be held on Saturday March 18 at 6 p.m. Brown was Recording Secretary in
1972 and 1973
Announcements
Congratulations to the chapter won the most improved chapter and outstanding
undergraduate attendance at this yesrs State Day, which was held on Feb. 4 in
Indianapolis.
Congratulations to the Rho Phi chapter for winning the Beta Cup at this years State
Day.
