GRADUATES INVOLVED WITH CHAPTER
This year, the Lambda Iota Chapter
graduate brothers made a great turn
out. We saw many of them at our fall

usual, it was a great time for all of the
for this year's race. Among the dona

regulars is also exciting. Our greatest
graduate turnout was the October 29th,
1994, Homecoming game against
Iowa. We entertained the graduates
with a buffet style lunch and social
hour before and after the game. It was
a good time for all involved even
though Purdue tied Iowa in the game

Lambda Iota Strong in Spring '95 Intramurals
The brothers at the Lambda Iota
Chapter once again showed strong
support of the intramural program.
The Purdue Phi Gams ended the 1993-
94 year ranked 10th out of 20 fratemities in division I intramural competi
tion. The intramural program is cur
rently in the top 10 and has been one
of the strongest in Lambda lota's re
cent history. Although we are only half
way through the second semester, the
participation in the house is up over
25 percent from last year.
During the first semester of this
year, the Phi Gams flexed their intra
mural muscles in many different ways.
improvement from the past and more
promise for the future of intramurals
Jeff Rule won the 110-meter high
at Lambda Iota. Lambda lota entered
hurdles and also won in the 200-meter
low hurdles. Matt Boatman received
more basketball teams (eight) than any
other house on campus, with an amaz
second place in the shot put. Thanks to
the help of these brothers, we finished
in third place in the intramural track
and field meet. In the sport of horse
shoes, Erik Fleming made it to the
final eight out of 400 participants.
The Fiji volleyball team made it
into the sweet 16 round. The second
ing six or seven of these teams con
tinuing on to the playoffs. We have
also had strong showings in table ten
nis, squash and bowling. With the
probability of a strong showing in

Lambda Iota Preparesfor Spring Rush
The strength of the Lambda lota Chapter proves that we have had a string
of successful rush programs and rush '94 went just as well as we are
preparing to initiate another stellar class. As rush '95 approaches, we are
preparing a rush campaign that will launch us to the top of the Greek
community at Purdue University. In addition to the rush tactics collected
over the years, we will be trying some new techniques gathered at this year's
State Day. We will be communicating with ISU Rush Supervisor Tim
Harlan, who will be our link to the other six Indiana chapters.
We will also be targeting the IHSAA Academic All-State students and the
Hoosier Scholars, in addition to graduate and sorority recommendations.
We are expecting the largest turnout for summer and fall rush ever.
Summer rush will be held on Saturday, August 5. We encourage you to
notify us if you hear of any future Boilermakers who might be Phi Gam
material.
