Brothers,
Greetings from Lambda Iota! At the top of the order is Pig

stuff!
In the unlikely event that some of our graduate brothers
have not heard, the undergraduates have spearheaded a plan
for renovating the chapter house. Included in this are the ever
unpopular showers. The plan, set in motion at Pig Dinner, is
stalled right now while wesearch for an architect. Any input
or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
The annual Run For Leukemiawas a great success. Those
of us "lucky" enough to run the balldown were accompanied
by someof the women of Pi Beta Phi! Togetherweraised near
ly $5000.
The big news is the return of the Fiji house in Grand Prix.
From top to bottom, it was doneprofessionally and with full
undergraduate backing. From Scott Givens' beautifully done
proposal portfolio, to our full sponsorship by Halston
Fragrances, to the crew headed by Dan Van Buskirk, to the
masterful driving of Jeff Hamilton. Jeff flew through the heat
race to get into the race. Had it not been for a bolt that work
ed loose, we would have surely hit the top ten. But, thanks
to "Busky's Bungy Cord", Jeff got back out on the track to
finish 17th.
Next fall we are looking to pledge another class of 30 men.
As in the last couple ofyears, rush will be"dry", but this year
it will beenforced by the University for allchapters oncampns. Our past experienceat dry rush will certairdy give us the

MOM'S WEEKEND/U SING
Mom's Weekend 1986 was as enjoyable as always. Over 50
mothers attended to be with their sons. A fantastic lunch and
dinner was prepared by Dave Roebuck which was enjoyed by
all.
The disappointment of the weekend was the Fiji singers
paired up with the women of Gamma Phi Beta. They failed
to make night sing for the third year in a row.
As always, the party that evening was the best of the year
as Mom's and their sons were dancing and swinging to their
favorite tunes.
Sincerethanks goes out to the Mary McCarty Mothers Club
for their usual generosity in donating $600 for the house com
puter. Also thanks goes out to Richard Lynch for his hard
work in U-Sing to Brian Michael for the planned weekend.

SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship at Phi Gamma Delta is on the rise once again. After
an off year last year, we have moved back into the top fifteen
fraternities with an expected top ten finish this semester.
The new pledge scholarship program has had a lot to do with
our rise. The newly initiated pledge class placed third on campus
among pledge classes with six out of twenty members making
the Dean's List. The renewed emphasis on scholarship during
pledgeship has already paid off with even greater rewards ex
pected in the future.
