A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Brothers,
1 hope this newsletter finds you well. I am pleased to
inform you that Zeta Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta is
stronger than ever!
First, we took home many Greek awards, most impor
tantly, Chapter ofthe Year! We have also been very active in
our campus philanthropy, raising, as a chapter, more than
$54,000 for Indiana University Dance Marathon benefiting
Riley Hospital for Children. On behalf of the undergraduate
chapter, I thank the graduate brothers who donated to this
and Historian Morgan Humphrey. Cameron, who is also our
newly elected rush chairman, and I will be traveling to St.
Louis, MO,over winter break for the annual Fiji Leadership
Academy. There, we will learn how to handle various issues
which affect our chapter and the entire Greek community.
Zeta Chapter's new cabinet has already begun working
toward making Fiji a better place that is '"not for college

Additionally, Fijis continue to be leaders on campus. We

have six brothers on the 2005 lU Dance Marathon Executive
Council, including President Christopher Carlson. The
university has been experiencing difficulties with compiling
grade reports, but we are confident in our academic
performance last semester. Athletically, Zeta Fijis were
tough competitors in fall intramurals. We are currently the
fraternity points leader and are excited about the upcoming
basketball season next semester.
In other news, the Fiji cyclists are headed to Tucson, AZ,
for an intense training session over winter break. Come
April, the team, led by returning riders Joe Keck, Steve
Spencer, Drew Moore and Matt Davis, is looking to build on
last spring's third place finish.

Zeta ofPhi Gamma Delta Named Chapter ofthe Year
Once again, Zeta Chapter dominated the competition at
this year's annual Greek Awards Ceremony, which highlights
the truly best aspects of the Greek community at lU. Winning
six ofeight individual awards, as well as Chapter ofthe Year,
Phi Gamma Delta proved that it continues to be the leader on
campus in developing the most outstanding students.
Each applicant was required to complete an essay-based
ing to be a role model for excellence for our Greek commu
nity." Expect more great things for the Zeta Chapter in the
year to come!

New House Carp,President Elected
Even as the fall semester comes to
an end, something begins anew at the
Zeta Fiji house. Dr. Tim Story '74
recently began his term as president
of the Zeta House Corporation. He
succeeds Brother David King '74.
When Dr. Story came to lU, his
mind was set on medical school, and
then he faced the decision on whether
or not to join the house.
"The house wasn't really that big of
a reason for me to go to lU," said Dr.
Stor>'. "But my dad was a Zeta and
still had a lot of friends through the
house, and that was something I
wanted to be a part of."
Dr. Story recalls his time at the Zeta
house very fondly and is proud of the
house and the positions he held while
there.
"Being in the house greatly sped up
my maturing process," he said. "I
learned to respect people of differing
opinions."
As a pledge trainer for our chapter.
Dr. Story helped develop the thenfreshmen group into a class with real
brotherhood and unity. Dr. Story
believes that the brotherhood point
on the star is what makes Fiji stand
out from all the other fraternities on
campus.
"The brotherhood at Zeta isn't
even mimicked at lU. Even graduate
brothers are still close," said Dr. Story.
Dr. Story joined the Zeta House
Corporation last year when his son.
Jack, became a freshman at the house.
This year. Dr. Story was elected
president. One of his goals is to keep
our house as self-sufficient as pos
sible.
"We (House Corporation) enjoy it
the most when we see things running
along without interference from us,"
he said. "Our goal is to be a resource
that isn't used very much."
As president. Dr. Story has one
main goal in mind: to leave the house
better than it was before.
"I'm excited for the future of the
house. The physical plant itself
has been improved, and we have an
excellent group of undergraduates and
an outstanding crop of leaders in the
junior class," he said.
