THETA DEUTERON WINS
SOCIAL SERVICE AWARD
This past yeai', Thata Deuteron has participated in a
very extensive Social Service
Campaign, in an effort to
reach all facets of the Dela

for the retarded children of
Delaware at the Dell Point
School, with an afternoon of
games ending in a hot dog
roast. Our pledge class of 27

SCHOLARSHIP
IMPROVES AGAIN
Theta Deuteron moved
up
one more notch in the schol
arship standings winter term.
After being fourth in the fall,
the chapter moved into third
place in the winter term with
a 2.67 average. The all men's
point average was 2.62.
It was the second term in a
row
that
Phi
Gamma
Delta
has been above the all men's
average. In our drive for the
Cheney Cup, we realize that
scholarship is very import
ant and could only be improv
ed by creating a good study
atmosphere for all the broth
ers.
During the last two terms
we feel that the academic at
mosphere is nov/ prevalent
and the thought of being in
first place by the end of
Spring term is still very much
in the minds of everyone.
The most important aspect
of our increased standing was
not the outstanding perform
ance of the more scholarly
brothers, but the strong effort
of the below average student
to increase their grades. By
eliminating almost all grades
below a 2.00 and increasing
most grades to well above a
2.00, these men did not deflate
the house average as in prev
ious years.
