FIJI achieved a cumulative house GPA
of 3.21 for the fall semester of 1999
which placed the house P'among all
other social fraternities on campus.
For the first time, Delta lota won the in
ter-collegiate, all athletic championship,
Voltmer.
The win came after a floor
hockey game with Phi Delta Theta.
After raising $3,500 for the American
Heart Association and volunteering for
other various causes, Delta lota won the
trophy for strongest Greek philanthropy.
The Drake Relays will be held April 28^^
& 29'*". A BBQ at the chapter house open
to family and alumni is planed for Sat
urday, April 29 at noon.
Delta lota's Annual Norris Pig Dinner is
tentatively scheduled for November 4^^,
2000 at the Savery Hotel . Graduates:

House-core recently re-keyed the entire
house and plans to renovate both 2nd
and 3rd floor bathrooms. The new keys
provide a master key system.
FIJI Island was a success.
The Island
Goddess competition preceded Island
and raised money for the American
Heart association.

Jonathon Espy
Gordon Smith transitioned into the role of Purple Legionnaire as Jona
thon Espy stepped down.
Espy Stepped down after making the decision that he would move to
Miami Florida. Espy accepted a position with the South Florida Graduate
Chapter to be a advisor for the Delta Colony at FlU in addition, he will attend
graduate school.
Gordon Smith graduated from Iowa State in 1961, majored in farm
management and currently is vice president of investments for A.G Edwar s.
Delta Iota sincerely thanks Brother Espy for his loyal service as chapter

Koch Wins
Place on AllUSA Academic
Team
Senior Cody Koch was recently fea
tured in USA Today after he won a position
on the All-USA Academic Second Team.

plishments include research on antibodies'
binding sites aimed at multiple sclerosis
treatments, student body vice-president, varsity football. Koch also founded and
chaired the health policy task force.
Next year Koch will attend medical school on full scholarship at the
Mayo Clinic. He is one of six people that will study under the MD-PhD program.
Approximately 3,500 people applied, 42 were admitted for the MD program, 6
were admitted for the MD-PhD program.
Koch hopes to earn his degree in immunology. He said that he is consid
ering practice medicine or performing bio-medical research.

Drake's student body vice president.
Flynn's win came after nearly

and the Drake's Student Senate. PreviMichael Flynn
