The men of Lambda, and "Mom" Sinclair, our
new housemother, join in welcoming all alumni,
parents and families to the house on Old Gold
Day, October 9th. This will be an extra special week-end at DePauw, since the regular Old
Gold Day activities will be combined with dedication ceremonies for the new Performing Arts
Center, which extend over several days. Alumni
have received a complete announcement of all
events, too long to repeat here. Fijis will be
proud to note that the featured artist on Friday
night is distinguished Concert Pianist John
Browning, . Omega Kappa (Oc cidental) 1 55. He is
the son of Lambda Fij i Johns . Browning '25 •
Visitors on Old Gold Day are invited to join us
for a buffet luncheon served from 11:30 to 1:00
(A card telling us you're coming will help.)
At 2:00 P.M. the Tigers meet Evansville in football. Watch for these Fijis in action on the
gridiron: Mark Frazer, Mike Dolinski, Lew Borsellino, Bob Konovsky, Scott Hardin, Nick Videcka, and Mike Milatovich. After the game,
come back to the house to relax and enjoy some
coffee, cider and doughnuts before you head
for home.
MRS. M3RLE SINCLAIR IS NEW HOUSEMOTHER
Lambda Fijis are happy to have as their new

members of Zeta Chapter at
I.U. She also has a daughter
Mrs. Y.aren Rogers, who was a

year old granddaughter. A native of Knoxville, Tenn., she
attended school in Dayton, O. i'

JATE FOR PIG DINNER
In the "Tiger Fiji" published last Spring, it
indicated that the Pig Dinner would be held
on October 8th. However, because of the many
activities on the campus in connection with the
dedic~tion of the Performing Arts Center, we
decided not to compete. A new date will be set,
"r · ~.h the thinking now to return to the time..c:-.o:::-ed format of having the Pig Dinne-r lmmed-iately following initiation, usually early March

NEW LIBRARY BEING CONSTRUCTED
Seve:::-al of the brothers, under the J eadership of
StevP- Glassman, have undertaken the r0modeling
of the room at the north end of the hasement
into a library, complete with paneling. This is
the room which contains our unique item of Fiji
heritage - a fireplace mantel from the birthplace of John Templeton McCarthy. Completion of
the work will depend on the availtbility of
funds, since this project could not be included
in an already tight chapter budget this year.
~he
brothers wish to thank all who participated
in the Directory program, a r.1 made its issuance
possible. Everyone one 011r mailing list should
by have received a copy. If not, please let us
know.
