Brothers,
In this edition of the Chi
Iota Quarterly, we will be
introducing our fall pledge
class, the Kappas, as well
as our newest class, the
Lambdas. It seems like evHU\\HDUZHÀQGPRUHDQG
more dedicated gentlemen of quality and we are
excited to welcome them into the chapter. You can
ÀQGWKHQHZFODVVHV·LQIRUPDWLRQLQVLGH,WLVKDUG
to believe that we are already on the Lambda class;
it seems like just yesterday that I was pledged in as
a member of the Zeta class. As you can probably
tell, our chapter is growing in leaps-and-bounds;
this edition also includes details about our out-
standing social calendar, our exemplary scholarship, and our successes in intramurals. This would
not have been possible without your generous support so allow me to extend our deepest thanks on
behalf of the chapter. I hope you enjoy the newest
edition of the Chi Iota Quarterly!
Mighty proud to be a Fiji!

Social:
For Spring 2010 the
FIJI social calendar
looks to be very robust. The Chi Iota
social chairs worked
hard this semester to
get us great events
with sororities such
as Delta Delta Delta,
Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Chi Omega.
The chapter reinstituted the Purple Garter
Semi-Formal as their

the semester. A couple
other events coming up this semester
include a dance exchange with Alpha Phi
and our annual FIJI Island party, which will
be located at Station
Bar in late April.
This year, the men
of Chi Iota have paired
up with the ladies of
Alpha Phi to perform

brothers of Chi Iota
will also be participating in many other
philanthropic events.
A few of these are the

candy gram sales.
Academics:
The past semester
has been great for
&KL ,RWD·V DFDGHPLFV
and scholarship. The
chapter took a huge
step by achieving a
3.34
chapter-wide
GPA. This placed FIJI
fourth out of 48 fraternities on campus.
Scholarship is of the
utmost importance in
the house and brothers
are studying a wide
range of subjects from
Aerospace Engineering to Pre-Law.
House:
The chapter has been
working to improve
the overall quality of
the house and has just
put up permanent letters to displayed on
the side of the house.
During the fall semester the Kappa pledge
class chose to create a
new sign for the house.
It was put up in place
of the old sign and the
Kappa pledge class
put in new landscaping around the sign.
Intramurals:
Currently, Chi Iota has
basketball, soccer, and
volleyball teams. The
basketball season has
just started and the
team is currently 2-0.
Our basketball team
has done phenomenally so far this season
and is the talk of the
league with the entire
team playing extremely well.
Recruitment:
:H ZHUH DEOH WR UHcruit a promising
pledge class of ten
gentlement of quality
and we are excited to
get to know them this
semester as they begin
their journey towards
brotherhood.
